another maldives adventure:thumbsup:

Nice set of photos you have there. Went to Hilton Maldives last year just before they rebranded it to Conrad Maldives. Over water bungalows seem to have been refurbished quite a bit. When I went there last year, it wasn't this nice. I spent ard $15K for 6D5N there. How much did you spend?

There are 6 different types of water villa - Standard Water Villa, Superior Water Villa, Spa Water Villa, Deluxe Water Villa, Premium Water Villa and Sunset Water Villa. Each type has a different layout with different amenities/service. Maybe ours are different?

Now is off-peak period so it cost slightly lesser than during peak period. Deluxe Beach Villa at 925usd++ and Deluxe Water Villa at 1400usd++. Did you try the food at Mandhoo Spa Restaurant? They have some very unique items on the menu that is so 'healthy' yet delicious. The other CSer RyanPepper went to W-Hotel in North Ari Atoll... it looks quite nice too... What's your plans for your next trip?

I stayed at the Standard Water Villa previously (April 07). Price was USD 950/night. Not sure about the price now...:)

Previously they only have the Standard, Superior and Sunset water villas. Now so many different types huh??? I think all the prices must have shot up tremendously. I did try the food at the Mandhoo Spa previously. Quite funny in my opinion...I remembered they used a lot of herbs in their food...Or maybe I remembered wrongly...;)

I also went for all their special meals previously e.g. sunset dinner for two on the beach, lobster dinner on the beach etc.

Will be going to the Anantara Resort Maldives in August. Will be staying at the Over Water Bangalows which surprisingly is their cheapest accomodation there.

Some pics of Hilton Madives that I took when I was there.

Not too sure about previously but the last renovations the resort had was in 2004/2005 period if I am not wrong... so I guess all the different villas were already there when u went in 2007.

Yes Mandhoo is a spa restaurant, so everything used in the cooking of the food is suppose to be healthy... it's got some very interesting menu somehow.

sunset dinner at the beach is nice, but weather is not very favourable at the time I went. So I didnt get to try the sunset dinner.

Anyway nice pics u got there.... do post more after your coming trip to Anantara!

can i know a rough cost to the whole trip ???

thanks in advance

simply fantastic. it's a must go at least once a lifetime..

Not too sure about the water villas though. The first pic is a model of the standard water villa I stayed in. The last pic is the sunset water villa which was super huge...I understand that when they rebranded the Hilton Maldives to Conrad Maldives, they undertook another round of extensive renovations to the resort so I'm guessing that all the rooms have been refurished significantly.

Will be at the Ananatara Resort from 20 to 23 August. Just a short trip as my wife can't take a long break from work...;)

They have a manta ray snorkelling trip there so I'm hoping to be able to go for that during my stay there...:)

Wow.... do post more pics when you are back, esp underwater ones! And nice pics you've got there!

Uploaded a video compilation of the trip here, do enjoy:

Wow...Nice video you have there.

Just wondering if I should buy the Raynox PL-S30 set from MacGill to fit on my S3 IS. PL filter will cut out the reflections from the sea surface and make the sky bluer...Also wondering if I should get a wide angle adaptor.

Will try to take pics of the underwater scenery when I am at Anantara but will probably be going only for the snorkelling given that I will only be there for 3 days... ;)

Will be using my IXUS800 to take the underwater pics... :D

Hope the pics will turn out well.

The Raynox set, PL-S30 comes only with a linear PL leh...Wondering if I should get the set or get seperately the adaptor and Raynox CPL. I'm worried that there may be instances whereby my cam is unable to focus properly if I use a linear PL filter...

i can live here forever!! underwater restaurant!! jacuzzi by the sea!! oh my, forget abt living in singapore, maldives here i come!! LOL
