I should really bookmark anything I see I might find useful whether its now or later because I cannot find the thread about the anti glare protection thingy for the LCD screen at the back of the camera, anyone have any idea? Thanks!

This one may interest users of manual focus only lenses who can't see very well

Dandelion AF confirm / IS Emulator (programmable) for Micro 4/3

.

I got it yesterday & stuck it on my Leica adaptor for the Nokton 50/1.1. it does work but hit & miss. Still needs more calibration for the chip.

Too bad, it can't detect the focusing point back & forth multiple times. Unlike typical MF with AF confirm, once u go pass the critical focusing point, it wont light up anymore if u reverse it. So we can't rotate the focusing ring back & forth expecting it to light up/beep every time it passes the critical focusing point. Too bad E-P doesn't have shutter blocking feature which will fire the moment critical focusing is locked.

I like this feature the most, just like those 6-bit codes for Leica lenses:

"Insert additional lens information for picture identification - e.g. exif shows "Planar 50/1.4" when viewed in PC (NEW) "

Now I won't forget what lens and aperture I used for an image ...

.

I gave up half way trying to enter the lens data for this one
Entering each digits with F value is not very fun. :D

Thanks for the info ! My first and second attempt to install it failed, must undo as still needs to move about 1mm. Argh, am really no DIY person ...

Indeed, that is unusual in not being able to move back and forth.

Nice!! but its in japanese again... not sure if it ship to Singapore

$12 flash anyone?

a bit hard to find the 'proper' manual setting, i have to stop down to about f8.0-11 and use ISO100-200 to get anything decent. close-up shots even harder to avoid blowout. but for a toy camera flash, i'm not expecting much. quite happy with it :)

LOL, quite cool, i think you wipeoff the Holga brand, you can resell the flash at a higher price, looks expensive when you mount it to EP2 hahaha :bsmilie:

no. they do not ship overseas and do not accept credit card. u got to do bank / teletransfer, and then to get them to send to an address in japan (vpost/tenso) before it can be sent to singapore.

but u can try jnk (korean). they do communicate in english, and they have an ebay site that makes purchase easier.

I think its possible, give them a call? :)

clubgrit, do you have more details about this chip? do you personally use it? whats the experience?

henavs already wrote about his experience. I have failed in installing it, and I did not yet have the inclination to fix it. Later ... after reading henav's experience with it, where he found it to be tough to input the lens information, I lost some interest in it for the moment.

I'll get back to it later, though, when I will need it at the studio, as I don't really need the AF Confirm outside the studio.

Do keep me updated ;), thanks
I'm ditching the m4/3 lenses for mf lenses, cheaper and better quality, LOL:bsmilie:

Better picture quality or just physical lens quality?
Picture lah, you know how hard to shoot at night using panny 14-45mm? f3.5-5.6.... it is OMG.....

I rather use a f1.4 manual focussing lens than using that lens, bigger aperture=lesser ISO=faster shutter speed

I'm guessing you're talking about longer focal length with bigger apertures, like 40mm f/1.4. From what I read, focal lengths below 35mm causes edge and corner smearing in all examples and that's actually a lousier image quality. I'm sure manual focus works very well on the Panasonic 20mm f/1.7 ?

Used 20mm f1.7 before, excellent lens, but never try it on manual focussing. For the price of 20mm, can get a Nokton 40mm f1.2, but manual focus lah :)

I've already disabled the chip contacts with tape, at least for now :bsmilie:

Ok, the problem I encounter is its really inconsistent in detecting critical focusing point. the AF confirm will sometimes light up/beep eventho nothing is in focus. Other time the AF confirm light will blink, indicating it can't focus, eventho focus has already been achieved.

Another issue is it underexposes very badly.

Since I already superglued it on my M-mount adaptor, I can't try it on my other C-mount & SR-mount lenses. Next week i'll be getting another M-mount lens, I'll try to see if it makes a difference.
