Hey guys, want to ask you guys about the Olympus EVF2. Is the price standard throughout the island? $398 right?

huh?? $300 new one? I thought I saw Olympus online shop selling $398
Sorry, didnt check the new one in Olympus Online Shop, i saw it on CS market. But if you are not using MF Lenses, EVF2 is not necessary.

I want to buy because I cannot see the LCD under bright sunlight, very hard to confirm if the image is focused to what I want.

saw Chiff selling the half case for e-p1 and e-p2, can someone telling me if it will fit e-pl1 as well???

yes, i was thinking of getting one too, really hard to see the screen under bright light, let alone trying to focus if using mf lens, but the price is really high and i heard it came off the hotshoe quite easily, i read from a blog, in the end he had to buy those string that can the lens cap to the camera, dunno what is the correct term for that, might want to get that for my lens cap before i loose it

But if you put in on the hotshoe for good, I don't think it will come off so easily.

For an E-PL1 user, it sure is a high price. I sold my E-P2 and kept the VF-2 for the E-PL1, so that saved me from buying a new one. I do see some selling 2nd hand, but it seems to be sold easily so you have to be quick. Price not so far from new, though.

Mine does not come off easily when mounted (or even in my bag), unless I push it out of course.
