Hi, my wife is in Japan now. Price of E3 is $2050 and the 12-60mm is $1155.
Do you guys think I should buy?:dunno:

woah good price...can long pang buy? 12-60..:)

Hello, I've never taken the liberty of posting here before but i do ghost around much just to check out what’s happening and stuff.

So a friend of mine is heading to Singapore soon and I’m quite intrigued to get myself an E-3 myself. And call me cheap, but I would like to buy with the cheapest price; but who doesn’t anyway, lol. ;p

Anyway, if you have the time can anyone tell me where to get one with a kit lens? I have some older accessories from my last E-500 and hoping to upgrade it. Appricate a lot in advance! :)

oh is it?

hmmm.... ok thanks for the reply then.

But in the USA, I believe they sometimes do bundle the E-3 with the 12-60mm SWD, and 14-54mm. This 2 lenses are best matched with the E-3. Just FYI. :)

I think it's a moot point that "the E-3 doesn't come with any kit lens"... in the packaging, not, but any shop here would be happy to quote you a (maybe, maybe not) discounted price for a 12-60 or 14-54 lens to go with your E-3.

Haha, thanks for the info but i really doubt i would be heading to USA anytime soon. im leaving in Brunei. =)

Sounds good, but i just realize that money is somewhat an issue at the moment. But thanks everyone for the info, appreciate it.

I've decided i would just extend my lenses for my e500; quite recently ago i manage to damage my 14mm-45mm kit lens. I know it sounds sensible to buy the e510 with its kit lens, but i always thought lenses should come first. (except E-3 :D)

So i thought i should go for the 14-54mm F2.8-3.5. But i liked to get a macro lens too, so i thought i should get the sigma 50mm macro or the Zuiko 50mm F2.8, cause its slightly cheaper. So if can, do you mind posting a shop where i can get both lens? I remember Alan Photo in Funan centre sold some zuiko lenses and maybe some places in Sim Lim but thats recalling from memory.

thanks again. :)

From personal experience with all the Olympus cameras, you should be dumping the E-500 and moving to the next camera asap. The E-500 has the worse sensor among the lot. Believe it or not, quality of Olympus cameras are different... they tell you one thing, analysts who took apart the camera tells you another.

Kodak CCD models differ, based on research by reverse engineering labs in China :
1. E-1 (but 5MP)
2. E-300
3. E-400

MOS sensors :
1. E-3 (thankfully)
2. E-330
3. E-510
3. E-410 (same sensor as E-510, no IS)
5. E-500

So you see, you are better off with a E-300 than the E-500 in your case, but if you can afford the extra, then go for the E-510 or E-3 if you can manage to buy something off the internet.

anyone knows where i can get hte Ownuser DX-FBH: E510 vertical / batt grip. $137.00?

Hi microcosm!

So you are saying that e300 have better sensor than the e500?If it is I think I can sleep now better because now I'm having second thoughts that I should have waited more to buy the e500 since it's now on the same price range.:D
