one remedy.

Wad can I say?

Crying on spoilt ROM photos cos they paid $300?! Wah.... $300 very big hor? I got pooped a year ago when people actually had the AUDACITY to even bargain at $200 for a 12hr ROM shoot AND refused to pay up for commercial shoots.

After making myself depressed for a year, I stood up and told people who requested for my services and my style for ROM & AD, "Ai Lai Mai Sua." (in short, "take it or leave it") when they hear my price. Enuff is enuff.

If they are gonna stinge when getting a photographer cos they think $300 is a huge amount, they are gonna get 'expected quality pictures' and if they are gonna complain, they might as well take photos of themselves.

Which reminds me of 2 female ex-classmates who got friends that are willing to shoot for 'goodwill' for their weddings when they realised that I cannot shoot for 'goodwill' neither am I willing to budge from my stated lowest price. I simply said, "Good luck. And all the best."

MAY ALL FORGIVE ME.

Back to topic, the pics to me are acceptable, just that communication are the key factor for such issue.

ya ya! good. one flat fee and non-negotiable is best.
a pity alot were left behind when digital revolution took place.
Actually no.

Digital revolution brought up a whole new era of 'machine gunner photographers' (used to be guilty of that in the past). Notice things offered in bridal salons like, "Unlimited digital coverage!".

But people will soon realise, the value of film, medium format again and appreciate them. Digital revolution may make photography more accessible (leading to many sub-par cameraman posing as 'professional photographers') to the mass public, but eventually the real Mccoy would edge out all the wannabes.

Its always darkest before the day breaks. Working Professional Photographers who are generally film based might be seeing this. But eventually the sun will rise and wash out all the darkness (before the sun sets in another cycle that will threaten true photography skills).

Good warning.... :bsmilie:

Unfortunately, with the digital revolution and high speed cameras getting so cheap and accessible (like Nikon D200, Canon EOS 30D, Sony A100) that firing 1000 rounds and recording 1 round as perfect headshot, is giving the false impression that wedding photography is really something very easy.

Even receiving jobs at times, I would suffer a stomachache before the couple's wedding day. I believe in the Karmaic Law of, "Do unto others what others do unto you." (I screw up a couple's wedding, next time my wedding the photographer will screw me back).
