freefall7 said:Went to Comex this afternoon. Interested to look for a P&S camera that can do pretty good macro. Went to Nikon booth and asked for Nikon S5 (or S6, can't remember). I asked what is the closest macro distance. A lady promoter told me about 4cm. Asked her to show me how good can it shoot macro. She failed to even show me a focused shot.
Asked her if her collegue can help to show. She called the guy promoter next to her. The guy promoter took out a $2 notes to show me the macro shooting. Told me the distance is about 1.5cm. No success shot too. Then he told the lady promoter to shot my hair. I am beginning to be very puzzled. Then he told her to zoom in my hair and told me "There....this is the macro mode. It shows how good it can take macro".
I told them right to their face "Kidding me. You are showing me digital zoom!". Both acted dunno (I presumed they acted dunno) and went off to entertain the customers next to me.
Sigh... they are kind of doing Nikon S5/S6 injustice, in my opinion.

I did not see any Sigma booth at the Comex when I dropped in on Thursday afternoon.
The Tamron guy was quite helpful when I was there. (maybe I worn a tie)
Got quite a few good buys, from cartridges, scanner cum printer, portable harddisk casing, oregon clock.
Thought of going down again tonight to get some DL disc.

is this weird uncle old wear spec and thin?plethora said:whoa i think i'm very slow. comex is over already then i stumbled upon this thread.
eh youhong, don't worry lah. won't blacklist you one, and other photographers as long as you all are friendly and don't ask absurd stuff. you know, during the sony a100 launch (remember the photo studio), there was this weird uncle, with loads of big bags (like backpacker like that), he asked me to sit on the floor and pose for him. then when i did that... his eyes were fixed on my skirt can?!?! :faint: :hammer: :flame:
that is just downright scary lah. i dunno whether he is from cs, but from what i remember i don't think he was hanging with the cs photographers.
hee hee, i usually don't reject photo-taking... as long as its not very very long and take non-stop. cos my contacts dry up quite easily lah, so if the photographer keeps on taking, then i keep on blinking... then very odd. haha.
hey guys... can i see more comex photos?hee hee. and youhong, i want to see THAT avatar. pm me.
regarding the ring... :sticktong *no comments*
