would be 1 x 1GB CF, 1 x 2GB CF, 1 x Dry Box, 1 x Lowepro bag, 1 x Tripod, if the promotion did not change from last week.

HN @ Funan gave 2 yr extended warranty on top of those stuff already mentioned...

BUT it was 2 x 1 GB CF instead... and not a LowePro bag...

Cheers,
Eric

Forgot to mention mine was at HN Centrepoint.

What was advertised on their advertisements?
It's blatant fraud if you didn't get exactly what was advertised.

AP Funan or AP Sim Lim?

As for original vs OEM accessories, I usually will attempt to check the boxed contents first and not let it out of my sight during payment. Been cheated by handphone sellers too (gave non-original batteries).

In their advertisements said that 2x2GB CF n BLM-1 Battery n bla bla..
But the sales said the promotion it's over.

I bought it from AP Sim Lim :(

It's now more than a month after COMEX...

The promotion would end when all their comex stocks are cleared...

Their adverts as in the ads still hanging ard their shop? Or did tey specifically pass u pamphlets still proclaiming the "ended" promotion?

There's a fine line between ur assumptions vs their slyness i guess... makes or break a case...

I'm wondering how well the promo went?
If not too well, perhaps one can pick up a 40-150mm at real bargain prices because I'm guessing that they would have an overstock of this lens if the Comex deal wasn't too well received.

That's probably why I could get a 40-150mm from a Malaysian camera chain store at just S$220 a couple of months after the IT Show 2006 in March when I got my E-330. Probably a simultaneous promotional campaign for the E-500 dual lens kit in Malaysia didn't turn out as well.

YES! IT is definately a value for money camera now.. with all the items thrown in....

Unless your really keen to wait for a new model that might be coming out soon...

Hi, i'm new to olympus. Thinking of getting the E500 .. any idea what are the new models coming out? Is it worth the wait since it's quite tempting now to grab the $1399 package with the above freebies mentioned.

:) then don't wait, grab it... The HN $1399 package with 2 years extended warranty is well worth the money. The extended warranty is very useful IMO, note that when you send in your camera body for servicing and cleaning without warranty, Olympus service centre will charge you $120 per service.

With the extended warranty, you don't have to worry when you change lens, sensor dirty just send it in for cleaning, covered under warranty.:bsmilie:

sound good.. guess i visit HN this weekend. Just out of curiosity, what are the next release models by olympus?

Hi chaps,

Emailed Chathy Photo yesterday and this was the quote they gave:

4. Olympus E-350 - not available locally
Offer: Olympus E500 with 14-45, 40-150 dual kit lens @S$1208.00 (Exclude 5% GST)
bundle with 1 GB CF card, extra battery, bag and Lens Pen Pro Pack

Olympus E500 kit will be a better buy in terms of value and specification.
E & OE

Hope it's useful :)

Sounds like a pretty good deal... but I think you got the model wrong for the "E-350"... is it a typo error? It should be E-330. That is the camera with the Live View.

The one that is not available outside Europe at the moment is the E-400.

Cheers.

S$1208 before GST, and must pay in CASH right? Gotta check if the extra batt is original Olympus, think it's been discussed here b4... ;(

What's a Lens Pen Pro Pack??? :dunno:

My opinion is HN deal may be more enticing IF u want their Extended Warranty and prefer NOT to pay by cash... :)

The E-400 will be released very soon for the European market (and grey market in Singapore) and PMA 2007 will see the new range of cameras. That said, the E-500 is still a very good performer and with the price drop, it is the camera to buy at the moment.

But if you want the latest, best-est camera from the Olympus prosumer series at the moment, then the E-330 is the one to get.

I am still using the 5MP E-1. The successor to this camera (pro range) will be released next year at PMA. But it will be much more expensive than the prosumer range.

E-330 is the best DSLR from Oly at the moment?

Errmm... out of curiousity and for the sake of any individuals still deciding...

Other than Live-View... what advantages does E-330 have over E-500?
And not forgetting the "banding" problem that has not been resolved...?

Dun say E-1 lah... since not easily available locally liao...

Cos b4 i bought my E-500... only dilemma was between these 2... ;)
