Haha...cakka, only indian guys, the woman will give dowry to the guys..I malay, i must gv them la...;p, hahah. But for the birthday idea..is brilliant..haha

hay bro fatah ... if i think rather than singma , u should buy canon 55- 250 , the image quality is better . that day u give me the singma lense to try it out right, when i try zoom maximun, i can't even do the auto focus and image is quite bulr:( our canon 75 ~ 300 , i zoom maximun 300, it still can focus and iimage is still clear :). bro consider it before buy ar :)

I second.. Fatah, read online reviews for more info on the lens that you're looking out for.. Image quality wise, all superzooms have probs.. Especially sharpness, colour output etc.. On the efs 55-250, it supercedes the efs 18-200 in terms of quality AND price.. You'll be paying less than half the price of the tammy/sigma/canon superzooms if you get the efs 55-250..

No doubt you might have to switch lenses every now and then.. But i feel its a small sacrifice to make for better quality images..
;)

Hmm...ok, i'll consider. But true la..the focusing is weak/soft at farthest range for the 18-200sigma, emotic i read the review on the tammy 18-270..the way they say like very good leh only the noisy sound of the focusing motor annoying them but..pic quality they say good..hehe, k still got a few mths to consider no worries only that for now i got no tele lens.

Our chief mahathir got the 55=250 rite, Guess must try his one...on the next outing. Want to see the quality. But i really like the idea of walkabout lens...haha..aiyah dis all money u noe. hahaha.

Anyway i already sold my 75-300 for $200..heheh, So i going to funan to recce every shop for the 50mm f1.8 lens this thursday. Anyone want to tag along??.Atleast got khaki..
I also done a e-quote with MS Colour this morning..but havent reply yet. So if anyone wanna tag. Sms me ok(94823347-Fatah). I'm going this thursday afternoon.

Hi guys,

Yesterday night I was in conversation with the Canon Boss that we met in the Fort Canning. This is what we discuss on the phone.

1. Group purchase of tripod bases and ball heads at a discounted price.

- Strong stable tripods that are able hold loads up to 4 kg.
- Special price only be given when there is minimum 5 to 6 members buying only from Club 1000D as group purchase.
- The tripods are sold at Cathay Photo.

2. Fixing up a date to the ZOO and test the special L telephoto lenses for FREE.

3. After much serious discussion with my minister of home affairs this is what I can get.

- I can organize regular outings... Once a month on the first week of the month.

- For night photography, it I can only make it on Friday nights. For day photography, Sat or Sun is open.

Hence I propose we have monthly outings on every first week of the month.

Cheers

To Fatah and other bros,

I advice you to get these lenses...

1. EFS 17-55mm F/2.8 (Sharpest L-type quality)
2. EFS 55-250mm F/4-5.6 (Very good contrast and resolution at both ends) also from J3:16
3. EFS 10-22mm F/2.5-4.5 (Sharp corner to corner. Distortion free ultra wide-angled lens) I got my my J3:16
4. EF 50mm F/1.8 Mk II (Bokeh on a budget) get from MS

And dont get rid of the EFS 18-55mm kit lenses. They good and sharp enough.

No 1 is very expensive.. You can replace it with Tamron 17-50mm F/2.8 instead. Image quality is almost the same.

As for now, I don't prefer superzooms despite their convenience. As what Emotic says...

They take a very long time to reply your e-quote.. I usually just call them straight (MS Color: 64576380).. That time i got mine, called them on the day itself while i was on the way.. Quoted me $110 cash.. So whatever price they quote you, its for cash payment.. If you intend to pay with nets/credit, it might be a totally diff price..

Eh bro.. Save for your wedding. Retain your 18-55mm kit lens. Then get the EFS 55-250mm
IS after you buy the EF 50mm F/1.8 Mk II. Its cheap lah. More cheaper than any superzooms. The 10-22mm must get, but just wait for your bonus to come. Your GST credit can definitely cover the 55-250mm.
