How to appreciate a good photo?

Firstly, after much thinking through, I got to agree with scud that critics should be taken offline.

Secondly, a photo good or bad, should not be judge according to how many comments it has yielded be it good or bad.

Thirdly, a photo bad or good, is very subjective as style and such is very diversified among viewers and photographers.

Forth, on the link that you post, see how many flickr groups that one photo is in and see through the comments. Some of it are group spams like, your photo has been awarded this and that and so on. Genuine commenting? I have my doubts.

Fifth, a photo says a thousand words. This saying is true to its words and yes, your photo must tell a story although it may varies from viewers.

The list is long. But there's a motto among many in my library - There's no bad photographs, only bad photographers. And also look at my sig. :)

Hi bro, since its other photographer's work, I would not want to comment on the technicality unless the owner wanted me to ;)

But I noticed that this photo is posted to many many many groups thus the respond is overwhelming.

I limit myself to 4 to 5 groups only. And if any bro want good comment, consider joining LTAL (Life Thru' A Lens) commentary group in Flickr (http://www.flickr.com/groups/life-thru-a-lenz/). But quite SIONG one hor. Coz each photo you posted there, you need to comment 5 pictures next to you...and quality comments only :D I am an active member there.

Anyway, bro, where to start SSS with you on Thursday? I'm freeing up the whole day to shoot together. :)
