beo, i hope those are the sea gulls, as other shots on same day have no 'spots' le. yes or no .... i nervous now ... later my nephew want brand new set and there goes one of my dream lens.

The dust can be cleared away. So i guess shouldn't be a prob.

sorry to budge in ;p

just use the self-timer function on your 1000d. since my tripod is kinda terrible, i normally set it to 6 seconds for the vibration to stop when shooting at 300mm. ;)

There's no way to set 6 secs before shutter opens unless you set to bulb mode and control the shutter using a black card.

So if ur shutter opens at the 1st second, then vibration kicks in at the 3rd and 4th, stops at 5th and shutter closes at 6th. It will still be recorded.

can't you use the custom timer function on the camera?

wow ryang you're editing your posts right after i reply to every one of them =p

anyway what i'm trying to say is that i use the custom timer on my camera to set the shutter to open 6 seconds after depressing the shoot button. this is because my tripod is not very stable and shakes every time i touch the lens to adjust the manual focus. hope this clears things :)
