1) 24-105mm F4L IS
2) 70-200mm F4L IS

or what other lens your prefer.

Both are good. But if you want to do street, IMO 24-105 is enough. One of the best walkabout lens.

Personally, I will choose neither. I'll go for the 85/1.8

Then it's pretty obvious, in this situation, I would go with the 70-200 and gaffer it black (if you're worried about being outstanding). Anyway don't omit the 70-300 IS, from personal experience, it's quite close to the 70-200 non-IS (both handheld).

Then again, if you have the budget for the 70-200 IS, ignore my previous sentence.

Well Im planning to give myself a present for my hard work and absence from home (my plants probably dead by now) ... one of the above lens and now thinking if i deserve the 50D.

200-300mm isn't a huge diff, i'm using a 70-300 now.

if upgrade, why not jump straight to 5D or 1D instead? 2nd hand prices can be quite decent these days. i think not so much diff to upgrade to another 1.6 crop body.

I will go for 1D series. After handling both 5D MK II and 1D MK III, both are awesome machines. 1 FF and 1 1.3x cropped. But I do not need the HD movie function though. Anyways, 1D MK III burst... :bigeyes:

This is why no one ard to talk nonsense and the reason why the thread is soo boring... this is a normal BBB thread which makes it boring.. why cant you all just settle down and take your photos.. buy so many things also you think the photos come out great? put effort first.. when you get close to perfect,(probably never) then try buying all the expensive equipment.. right now.. its just to show off.. if you want, i can give you rubber band to tie ard your lens.. there your L lens..
