I've test it on a different body at the Canon Centre at Vivo but not to sure if it's the same wen I use on the 1000D. Any idea?? Thanks in advance.

24-105 is a pretty nice L lens that Canon has. I have not had any experience with it unfortunately. A good lens will perform well regardless of which camera body it is attached to. Or to put it another way it will definitely outperform your kit lens on the 1000D.

One thing to note is the crop factor on the 1000D. I know the 24-105 is the 'kit lens' on the 5DMkII which is full frame. On the 1000D with the crop factor it will be around 36-160 or so .

No, it will not be the same on the 1000D as compared to the 5D MKII.

5D MKII is full frame with sensor size of 36mm x 24mm
1000D is APS-C (1.6x crop) with sensor size of 22.5mm x 15mm

At 24mm, the 5D MKII is wider. On the 1000D, to achieve the same view, you will need 15mm.

Hope this is simple enough to understand.
