Don't know if anyone is interested but saw a few copies of the OM-D at Artworkfoto. Not sure of colour and price. This was about 3pm today.

Do you think that Courts will match the Lowest price guarantee?

Nope. The lowest price guarantee only applies to competitor superstores like Harvey Norman or Best Denki etc. not ur mom n pop shops like TK photo etc.

Interesting, I have been wondering about that too, is this stated in small prints or mentioned by their sales rep ?

My guess is to make use of this, you must show proof via brochure, newspaper ad, official quote etc n probably the package must be exactly the same.

Seems like the humming sound of the camera coming from the evf is present indeed. However, you will only hear it if you put the camera almost cupped to your ear or close to it enough.

The 20mm 1.7 panny on the body also makes a sound when focusing , hopefully Oly solves this through firmware soon.

The direction buttons on the body is much more tighter than the demo sets at IT show. EvF refresh rate is indeed better than EVF-2, resolution remains the same.

The 20mm f1.7 is the noisiest m4/3 prime that panny makes, even on pany bodies. Dont think firmware can solve it.

hi i receive news from olympus sales saying the silver kit is delay till may..they ask me to take the black kit but according to OMD paint problem [Page 1]: Micro Four Thirds Talk Forum: Digital Photography Review they claim the black version have paint easily chip off issue..can the black kit owner here confirm on the quality of the paint..thank you very much

im going to collect later. stay tuned. but no way im gonna scratch the metal part just to test the paint :D

is not ask u to purposely scratch..is just try to rub with finger to see if the paint come off easilyt or not

i need to buy a FT lens to utilize the free MMF3... any recommendation :)

if you want a weathersealed HG lens that is bright.. 14-54 Mk II. CDAF optimized. AF lock in under 1 sec. IMHO, better than the 12-50

If it comes off then Olympus is in deep trouble already!

Don't think too much about it. The paint is designed for the operating environment. As long as you don't abuse the camera it's going to be fine. Quoting another forumer, "it's not made of tofu."

Any bro can advise the price of body only? I read somewhere suppose to be close to 1.4k but the shop told me close to 1.5k

By the way I finished reading the entire DPR thread. Only one guy is complaining and he didn't even post a pic of paint flakes or his so-called painted black hands. I'll take his comments with a pinch of salt.

Anyway I'll post some pics of mine later on. You can judge for yourself whether this camera is worthy of the flagship designation and price.

Read about that, too. Was rubbing all over like a Genie lamp earlier when I was collecting it. No paint came off. So far so good. I guess it's just that guy's batch of paint.

It's REALLY small! Even for me, coming from a Pana LX3. The buttons feels good, though.

And the PL25F1.4 do rattle. =( Did notice that if you change lens, the MF assist setting is not retained. Need to poke at the setting abit.

Overall, very happy with it. Can't wait to go out and shooch!

tq for the feedback on paint quality appreciate that,,i guess i have to settle for black instead of silver cause silver have to wait till mid May

Body alone not available yet, only the single and twin kit lens kits. Body alone is listed at $1488.

I'd been using pre and initial production units (both colours) since the launch. Used it in wet and outdoor environment and also I've sweaty palm. The paintwork did not peel off and no paint flake was found on my palm, thumb and fingers.

My 2Â¥ worth of feedback. :)
