Nope, in the end I pre-ordered at IT Show.
BHphoto was very tempting, as the price also very good, but lucky didn't order because by the time they ship out it's too late for me.

If you want to get from US, I hear that Olympus USA's online store should be the fastest to ship.

End of May shouldn't be a problem. Even if you don't pre-order I'm pretty sure you can get stocks. :)

Indeed. With the number of awesome new cameras launched recently (1DX, 5D Mk III, D4, D800, E-M5) the second hand market is flooded with last-gen cameras. (It's definitely a buyer's market now.) That makes it pretty difficult for upgraders to sell their existing gear at good prices. Perhaps some of those who pre-ordered will end up giving up their sets because they can't secure the funds?

Agreed, and not forgetting NEX-7 just had stocks in also to add to the glut of 2nd hand cameras (Nex-5N) on the market.
And by May, information about Panasonic's new "high-end" M4/3 camera would be more concrete also, adding even more cameras for us buyers to choose.

I almost forgot the Fujifilm X-Pro1, which was on my wishlist until the E-M5 rumors surfaced.

Panasonic already has the GF series to serve entry level, G series to serve midrange, and GX / GH series to serve enthusiasts. I suspect this high-end m4/3 camera is a re-positioned GH-3 to include more pro features such as weather sealing. But who knows? We might get a pleasant surprise. To juxtapose, Olympus has the EPM series to serve entry level, EPL series to serve midrange, and EP / OM-D series to serve enthusiasts. Notice how Panasonic released GX to compete with EP, and Olympus released OM-D to compete with GH?

What I can be sure of, though, is that the new Panasonic flagship will not have IBIS. This is because Panasonic will want to sell more of their OIS lenses. It is also unlikely for Panasonic to introduce a retro-looking camera since it didn't produce cameras back then. So my preference is still for the IBIS-equipped, retro-looking E-M5.

Yah i was interested in the xpro1. But 3 strikes and its totally out. First strike was big n clunky. Second was after i played with it - not impressed with performance. Third strike was the price.

Not to say its crap. Im sure it can take very nice photos but at a slow n steady pace. I see it more as a studio type camera.

The 12-50 does seem to be quite a let down compared to the primes.
dpreview's studio shots also confirm that it's amazing at high ISO.
Was just told by Olympus that pre-order is still available as Courts, but no more free gifts!

Very impress by sharpness of the Outdoor shots that robin wong took.
But looking into the caves shots seems not that sharp... Diffferent Lens i guess...

today only 23rd Mar 2012, still have 8 more days for the official launch, and at least 15 days for the set to reach our hands.:cheergal:

He is using 12mm f2. Anyway the cave is low light condition, doubt he can shoot f8 or 9.
