Ha! So all EM-5 do have this "fan noise"... in that case I am not so worried... Some bros mentioned about sound of the shutter, to me, some camera's shutter sound is music to my ear... on the other hand, this "fan noise" is like a taxi idling at the traffic light to me... not so nice...

I used the OM-D only once and I didn't year anything but of course the store wasn't completely quiet.

try again and tell us if you hear the same noise... it is like laptop fan noise... like some bros mentioned, you might need to put your ear near the camera to hear...

I need to put my ear on the camera body to hear it I don't care about the noise. ;-)

Btw Cathay and MS have it in stock for about $820.

I noticed the sound will be very loud and erratic when using spot metering/high/low metering. With center and ESP metering, the sound will only appear when:
- press shutter button/focus
- lighting level between scene is differed quite a lot, such that the shutter speed can go up/down in 1/100 sec step.

On the OM-D?

I would add that the sound is like gears that have not been oiled for a very long time.

Just received my 25mm today.

No discernible rattle or farts. Lucky.

For now.

Right after my declaration, got bitten by rattlesnake. :)

How much did you pay?

Folks lets just acknowledge this fact and move on. :)

I LOVE the bokeh of this lens :) thumbs up for all owners of this lens, rattlesnake or not kekekeke.

Yeah. I knew what I'm in for. I don't care. I'm really happy with the images. ;)

+1

I still wouldn't mind if Olympus would release a f/1.4 prime in the normal range.

wow, the bokeh is almost in par with the voigtlanders 0.95 lens.. def not as sharp as the 20mm f1.7.. but.. it gives the.. "leica feel" (okay i'm biased)

More bokeh shots can be seen on my recent 2cts review of this borrowed lens, though no comparison with CV25/0.95. Still updating on this lens, it's very stunning I must say.

I think 27.5/1.2 would be good, optics of the OM55/1.2:)

i jumped on the boat!
very nice bokeh, colours... but the size and focus length is abit out for me.
bought it to consider between the 12mm and this. don't have $$ to keep both :(

What exactly do you mean by "focus length"?

Focal Length I suppose?

25mm in M43 is not exactly multipurpose.
