clicking sound? OM-D 5 and 25mm lux

I'm actually not too concerned about this issue as long as the IQ is top notch. ;-) I'm just surprised this phenomenon seems to appear not with any other Lumix G lens.

I do think 20/1.7 has this issue too, at least on mine, then again if it doesn't affect functionality, it's ok for me:)

So far I'm very impress with this lens sharp wide open sadly at extreme conditions it suffers from PF step it down and it's gone.

I've thought about all these reports of rattlesnaking on the 25mm.

But in the end, I just bit the bullet and order. Hope the photos will really justify in the end.

Hope it won't be too loud out in the streets though.

Rattle or not ... it's a nice lens. f1.4 @ ISO1600

I just tried the one my colleague bought on Saturday. I played with it on her new GX1 and I wasn't able to reproduce any rattling sound.

Only happens with Olympus body.

Oh, I thought it happens even with Panasonic bodies to a lower extend.

No rattling sound for my case. Similar focus "noise" level with my GX1. The only "noise" issue with my E-M5 when compared with my GX1 is that there seems to be a fan working in the camera???? There is like a "fan noise" when the camera is turned on. There is no sound when switched to video mode... anyone having the same issue?

Do you have this noise from the camera only with that lens?

I think that's the new 5 axis ibis in action. Not an issue:)

There is this "fan noise" ... sound like my laptop... when the camera is on... other lens also same...

It happens with my gx1 and gf3 as well, depending on the scene and how it meters it, so it doesn't happen all the time.

Unless u put your ears covering the camera which no one does unless you treating your camera as a earphone.

Yup, so just ignore it and enjoy the camera.

It's like when improved graphics card needed a fan to cool it down. Extra noise of course. But gamers don't care as it brings their game to the next level.

And it's not like the noise in the case is unacceptable. I notice the vibration in my 20mm more.

Wonder if the 25mm I'm getting will finally irritate me. LOL.

Bro, once you see the results of the 25mm, esp at F1.4 wide opened, you will forgive it even if it farts at you... :)

And to all brothers who still have concern on the "fan noise" of the IBIS, if you intend to shoot in a quiet environment like museum or taking secret shots at girls' toilet, I think you should worry first about masking the sound of the shutter, rather than plain worrying about this negligible sound that doesn't even exist in normal human hearing environment....

You're highlighting an extreme... something will be really wrong with the lens if it farts! It's Alive! Or there's a flatulent hamster living in it...

Then again... if the shutter sound it makes is just fart... it will be perfectly stealth in a toilet. :)

But beware, be too trigger happy and someone will knock on your door and ask if you're OK.

Ha! So all EM-5 do have this "fan noise"... in that case I am not so worried... Some bros mentioned about sound of the shutter, to me, some camera's shutter sound is music to my ear... on the other hand, this "fan noise" is like a taxi idling at the traffic light to me... not so nice...
