the bonus also not even enough to pay off all the increments....

argh....

they are trying to suck us left right and centre.....

what is given to you have to be paid back double, thats the rule in Singapore.

depends on your salary.........if a servant earns SGD 6000, then bonus is SGD 3000.....still more than average SG salary........

HS

If you earn 1 million (maybe people like LKY), then you get half a million, wow that's a lot man.

This year's mid bonus is 0.4 month plus $200. It's 0.1 month lesser than last year, but for those lower income civil servants their 0.1 is not as much as the $200 one time payment the government is giving this time round. So this year's objective for the government is to give more focus to the lower income earners (<2k/mth). :)

Well, the year before, it's only 0.25 mths. So this year is considered quite generous liao. Frankly, I'm quite happy with the payout. But just a cheek-in-tongue, all my Deputy Directors and Directors are earning five figures salaries. In comparison, I'm considered a lower income earner.

I think you easily take home not less than $8,000, being a HOD! You can't fool me! hehe... Enough for you to live it up for your upcoming Thailand F&E trip huh!!! :kok:

Hey hey! I'm not a HOD lah ... not officially at least.

S$8000? Then I'd have bought a 1Ds MKII, EF 400mm L f/2.8 IS ...

I'll be lucky if I can draw that kind of pay when I retire ...

Urs definitely 2 times my pay.... Dunch blaff liaoz... I'd got a sister who's a primary school teacher as well. Her pay's like twice of mine... :bsmilie:

I've got a fren in her mid 30s, now a vice principal of a secondary school. I don't even want to know what's her pay like.... :o

Vice Principal?

Either Div 1 or superscale pay liao.

i wonder which is more incredible, a young teacher like AG earning $8k a month or people thinking he earns $8k a month. Think about it, if he's earning $8k now, that means when he retires, he'll probably retire at $20k a month

:bsmilie:

Vice Principal definitely is Div 1 officer. Minimum Grade 1 or Superscale H officer. Yeah, min salary should be $8K. Cool, man...

Hi.

I think I need to clear things up.

1. Division 1 officers - As long you have a recognized degree, you are placed in this division. The starting pay is comparable to what you see in the papers, i.e. $1k plus upwards.

2. VPs as Superscale officers? From my experience, it's unheard of. Even for Ps to achieve that has been quite rare ...

3. I only joined MOE officially in July 1999 and I'm defintely not a high flyer so you can fill in the blanks ...

Can't say anything more or I'll get into trouble so please leave me alone ... I want to sleep now and dream that I'm actually drawing S$8k a month ... :bsmilie:

Seriously, how much is enuff these days... Everything in singapore is generally ex. Well, just name 2 things enuff already.. a tiny HDB flat and car. U can spend yr whole life slogging at work to pay off the bills.

$8k is peanuts really. Most of the senior registrars (medical specialists) in my dept earn about that amount, and they are in the 34-36 age group. And of cos... no one ever said money is enouff! Whatever u earn, u want more....

Hrmm... a big portion of singaporeans are learning less then 1.5k, quite a lot getting few hundreds, so what are we complaining here?

Yet to include those who are still jobless...
