i feel that this pic looks abit too flat & symmetrical to reflect gloominess if that's wht ur intend.
else it's a nice piece of art. yeah, it does look abit dark, might look better if there's is a wider range of tone, as in there's abit of lighter tone in the pic.:think:

Hi guys, i'm gonna post a series of "abstracts" for today. In hope to find the real meaning of abstract photography. Have seen quite a few "abstracts" in the forum since i first joined but never understood the real meaning and style of it. (Anyone can give me their expert opinion or defination of abstracts??) So here's my humble posting. Hope you guys can C&C as much as possible on it and maybe vote your favourite one too. Thanks a million!!

Abstract art is an interesting field. There's no formalistic ways to understand all type of abstract art (and for the matter, art), and hence you have to discover your own way to understand it. I'm being totally ambiguous here, for everyone is different, and would appreciate different visual form differently. Some will associate things that are real to them, and give perspective to that abstract picture; some will associate the perfect unreal form that is hinted by the abstract. Some will associate mood and feeling to a certain form in the abstract, while some will associate the feeling with colours and theme. Of course, some abstract art don't really mean anything to some, and that's fine.

Sorry, I'm not providing you with an answer, and I doubt if anyone will. Do note that whenever people discuss about abstract, it will ultimately be based on their perspective, which may not necessarily be parallel to that of the artist/photographer. If you're really interested though, go and do some research on abstract art (contemporary paintings) which will provide you with another dimension of the possibility of comprehending it.

Anyway, don't be upset if you just don't understand it. Artist don't aim to please everyone. So it's perfectly all right if it simply incomprehensible to you. Don't dwell on it too much. Mayhaps you would understand it better in the future, when you form new perspectives.
