Since the Preview is tomorrow and main Parade on Sat, just wondering...anyone have any experience taking pics at past year's Chingays when the events were held at night? Any pointers/tips/things to note when shooting? (esp for digicams) Please do share your experience, thanks! :gbounce:

last year was a day event.

if you have a fast and zoom lens, by all mean bring it. else, u better stick to 28-80mm range. the float and participant will be moving around, they will surely come to you if stay by the side of the road. that's why we need to go there earlier to grab a good spot.

What type of lens is appropriate for this occasion ? 17-35 or 28-105 or 70-200 ? This is my first time going down to Chingay so don't know what to expect.

For those who have responded for the Friday Chingay shoot, I suggest we meet on that day at 1900hrs at the Peninsula Burger King, CP side. Any other suggestions?

slight change on my side, may need to take on a last minute assignment tomorrow evening. If so, I need to be there rather early 1700hrs+. This is not confirmed yet. Knighthunter is kind to help host the gathering for me initially set at 1900hrs at BK. Please liase with him.

Used Nikon D1x with 28-70AFS, ASA was in the range of 125-640.

I remember one time is night. I could not really like get a good spot so i just went over the fece and walk side by side with the parade, soon some people came in to join. More importantlly just act like a photo journalist and seldom people will chase you out

The overhead bridge linking Funan to Adelphi. Dunno if it will be cordoned off - if not, there will be a lot of photogs there. or there might be TCS video cameraman there as well.
