he might be telling the truth..i have made double deals before at the same time and yes...my deal turned sour so i can afford to buy something else for the next deal.you said he scolded vulgarities to you-where is it?seems he was man enough to say sorry.just my 2 cents...

I don't see anything wrong with his proposals and behavior. Calling him a con man is far-fetching.

In this particular case, if potential buyer informed in advance and no loss incur by buyer (except that its annoying). It deemed fine. Another case i have experienced was a potential buyer indicated his interest to deal at my asked price but insisted to deal at his place which is located far off from where i am. Even having compromise to meet in between, he still insist. For such case, i took a safe decision to forgo this deal as i do not want to end up being played out after having travelled so far for it.

TS first post seems to imply that the buyer is asking to change from sale to trade at the last minute. If that is the case,I would say it is a no no, since it is a major deviation from the original arrangements.
