hey guys, bad experience about this, just try to warn everyone here

i just bought my self a filter and a 3rd party battery today , which is good,

the item that i bought is

EMOLUX 67 mm UV filter
+
ITTOU EN-EL3e 5800MAH battery

which cost me 100 dollar!

i wasn't thought it was a trick before i get home and search about the info and price.

( what i finally realize is filter will only cost S$20 top and battery about 40top!!)

ok it is not much, but it's not nice to be cheated.

the uncle with spec ask for first price is 150 for both! then i 'm about to go, he reduce the price from 130-120-100!
i was thought that was a good price (i hv no idea what i have that thought!)

he told me that NIKON no longer produce their own battery and they authorise ITTOU as their main battery manufacturer which made in japan! he first offer 85 for battery then i tell him the original only 90 so what for i still buy the 3rd party for this price? he said 5800mAh is about 3 times more last longer than the original one, that's why it's expensive! ( is it true anyway?)

i was so dumb! x know why i can believe what he said...

well, just to aware all of you about this stupid shop name

WORLDWIDE CAMERAS CENTER in peninsula plaza #31-38

ps:
try to search this name in google, it's a top cheated shop in the list!!!

was thinking to snap the shop outlook and show to all ( maybe photocopy it and paste it anywhere? or send the news to MY PAPER?)

they lam all the item in "accessory 1" as total amount of 100

so i ask them how do i know whether i can exchange if there is a problem as you said?

he said there is a name in the receipt and they can track back the record!

the guys name TONY ( in the receipt shown)

i sympathise you but its partly your fault too . For not doing your homework on the stuffs you're getting . Dont take it as being cheated . just take it as a lesson to learned ;) Have a good day .

Legally he did not cheat you as he quoted that price, you bargain it down and agree to transact at $100. In fact the camera shop can now sue you for libel for publishing the shop's name in bold red.

You can only say that you have been ripped off / chop robert and launch a complain with CASE.

I would think for that amount. If you are hoping to recover the difference, take this thread off-line. Go down with receipt and settle it amicably with Tony. If he refuse to refund, just take it as lesson learnt and don't patronize this shop any more.

Sorry to hear about this and thanks for sharing info.

Just remember to do the reverse next time, search for info before buying the items. The mentioned shop has popped up in discussions several times.

LOL FYI Nikon still makes their own batteries

ya i should do more research before i buy anything.:dunno: sigh~~~

but they seem trying to misleading me about the battery (are ITTOU the official partnership to produce battery to NIKON?)

anyway, just trying to warn everyone that happened on me. the other guys in clubsnap had the same situation on his as well, where he try to bring back the receipt and ask for refund /exchange, he had no welcome anymore on next day and he ca 't do anything about it as the receipt is "all in one"..sadly:angry:

http://www.clubsnap.com/forums/showthread.php?t=347284

after reading this thread, i think it is wasting time for me to going back there argue with Tony...
i am trying to forget it..(learned the lesson of course) so i won't feel bad anymore...is no feeling good by been cheated ( or chop/ripped off)...

haha, i got a free emolux 62mm filter a few days ago. In the end, me and my friend decided to just bounce it on the floor and break it (which we did :bsmilie: )

The bottom line is, don't hesitate to ask any qns or check the price list on CS! and which regard to filters...i think many will agree that Hoya is the cheapest range of filters you should ever buy :)

Actually I nv even hear b4 a battery brand called ITTOU

If you are able to prove that he said the whole nikon not producing batteries bit, you may be able to get them under the Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Act. Perhaps youcan try go there, ask for batteries, and then get your tape recorder ready :)

Really? Can you tell me which part of his statement is liable for libel? From your post, it is the act of posting the shop name? Care to elaorate?

Just read your post again; you're saying its libel because he called the shop a cheat and quoting a high price is not cheating.

Now let me ask you, do you consider whether telling someone the following statement (which in all likelihood isn't true) to misrepresent and induce someone to buy an overpriced battery, constitutes cheating?

he told me that NIKON no longer produce their own battery and they authorise ITTOU as their main battery manufacturer which made in japan! he first offer 85 for battery then i tell him the original only 90 so what for i still buy the 3rd party for this price? he said 5800mAh is about 3 times more last longer than the original one, that's why it's expensive! lesson 3:

i know you mean well, but i don't see how there's libel...

my sympathies... i'm still not sure why these shops are still allowed to exist... there must be some economic reason i'm missing

Sorry to hear that ... I think to teach them a lesson .... take a SNAP of the picture of thier shop and post to this forum...
