BTW, I did remember someone in this forum did discuss before which lab provide better quality for converting slide to print.
Anyone care to share information on it, as I'm planning to convert some of slide to print.

Thanks

That would be fotohub.com, I think. I tried fotohub and colour lab slide to print, I'd say both are on par with each other.

RGB was having this promotion recently. Buy a Velvia or Provia from them at $12 and $11 respectively and they develop the slides for you free(without mount; with mount add $3.60). Meaning only $2.50 to develop..... Too bad the promotion eneded!!! :(

REALLY?
When exactly did it end?

when i bought the film on 08/08/02 the promotion was still on. But when i got back from Sydney and went to develop the slides(19/08) the lady told me the promotion had ended..... wanted to get more film but...... no promotion so too expensive.

Darn.
I want to try persuading them to develop for free... ;)
Dunno if it works or not.
But I don't even have a roll of slides that are shot!

Good opportunities just pass you by... :(

I bought 8 velvias and 4 Provias from them and only used 6 Velvias and 4 Provias for my trip. The lady says that i have to send in the last 2 rolls for developing by 24/08 else it won't be for free anymore.

i took advantage of that offer with 10 rolls. very worth it :)

uhmm..and i think your price is wrong.
i remember they were offering Provia and Velvia at Cathay photo price, definitely not 12 and 11!!!!! that's way too expensive.....

RGB is the best for slides. bar none ;p search the forum for my other accolades of them (great, cheap pushing services, fast etc)

Nah, i did not get the price wrong..... Yup I read your other threads and you wrote that if you bought a Velvia ($9.50) or Provia ($8.50) they will process the slides for you at $2.40(normal price $4.80). What I am saying is that I bought mine at $12 and $11 and the processing was FREE meaning it was bundled up..... :)

Hi,

Just want to check any Pro Lab offer FREE scanning of negative film to CDR?

N.B. I know that
Colourlab charges $9.90 at High Definition
Ultra High Definition (UHD) is S$13.90

===============================

Just want to share some info below,

I called a few 'Not Rated Pro' :D Minilabs (Don't flame me!!! Ha Ha...) listed on
http://www.fujifilm.com.sg/web/epics_5.htm
that uses the Fuji Frontier minilab machines.

One of the best offer was,
Sincere Photo Studio at Tampines St 21 Blk 201A
charges
Developing : $3 (About 4 hrs service, depends)
4R Prints (from negative film) on Fuji Paper : $0.40 each
- If print more than 20 prints, will have free scanning of film to CDR
at high resolution (JPEG file size is about 0.8MB) &
free index print (that fit in as CD Cover).

But have to buy 1pc $5 Fuji CDR from them first.
Each CDR can store up to 15 rolls of film.

I've processed 2 rolls there, IMO, the quality is quite good.

Yesterday passed by Soo Kee at Clifford Centre (Raffles Place),
they are having a promotion,
for every new roll processed with 4R prints
- Scanning at High Resolution is only $3 (inclusive of CDR)

Developed a few rolls at Soo Kee before and I find their print job quite good.

Wah...then Soo Kee at Clifford is cheaper than Soo Kee
@ Lucky Plaza...
Last I saw scanning negatives to CDR cost $5.90.

slide to CDR is @ $1.20 per slide.

Tried negatives to print & digital (download from CF) to print
@ Soo Kee Lucky Plaza.
Quite good quality for both.
But bit expensive.
Digital to print is 50 cts for 4R and $5 processing fee.

The Soo Kee salesgirl at Clifford told me that S$5.90 is for each 'old' roll of negative sent there for scanning.
For 'new' roll developed & printed there, it's only S$3.

is scan of film = scan of photo?

S$3 seems cheap isn't it? without going thro the hassle of scanning the photo yourself...
but what is the resolution they scan in ? 1200dpi or more?

Many thanks.. :embrass:

The one in Somerset I have absolutely no idea where it is...... But the one in Beach Road is opposite Shaw Leisure (where Prince and Jade cinemas are). To be more precise it's opposite the former police station. The name of the building is Premier Center if i'm not mistaken. It's next to a big field. (long winded?):bsmilie:
