Im going to HK in 2 weeks.
Would be ever so greatful if you could recommend a store in Hong Kong reputed to offer the best deals on a Nikon D300.

I bought my D300 from New Sankyo for 12,700 (HK Nikon Warranty). It was 12,300 (no warranty)

The one you purchased does it come with International Warranty?

As far as I know cam buy oversea Nikon SG doesnt cover Internationl Warranty:dunno:
Usually in HK when you buy cameras, it only comes with the local warranty of the manufacturer. I have asked several stores in HK and they will always say or market it as having an international warranty but when you take a close look at the warranty, it only applies to the local warranty of the manufacturer.
Don't let the dealers / service centers miss lead you:
1) all DSLR bodies come with local (the place where it is bought) warranty only.
- if you want warranty in SG, then only buy bodies in SG thru Nikon SG authorized dealer; and don't buy "grey" sets as they are "parallel imported"!
- if you buy from a HK dealer and he tells you that it has "world wide" warranty, he is not a honest dealer!
- if warranty is not important to you and you just want the cheapest deal; buy from HK and you'll save a lot because of the current very favorable currency exchange rate; "grey" sets are even better (cheaper) as warranty in HK will be of no use to you anyway.
2) all Nikkor Lens and Nikon flash lights are covered by WORLD WIDE warranty, regardless of where you buy them
- if an authorized dealer in SG tells you not to buy "grey" set because you'll loose warranty, he is not a honest dealer!
- if the services center refused to service your lens under warranty because it's "grey set or bought overseas, write to Nikon SG or give CASE a call!

Some do, some don't.
I bought a lens from Man Shing (IIRC) before and wasn't charged any surcharge for paying by credit card.

Hi, are you in HK now? I asked a fren to look for 70-200 f2.8 VR for me 3 days ago and he said almost whole of HK don't have this lens. Could you help me ask if you happen to be at any shop? Thanks.
