Nikon now has a 24mm f1.4 now.

To TS, I'd rather stick to Nikon and get the D700 if I were in your shoes.

You are partially right but there will be 4 months still until i really made up my mind so lets wait and see between this 2 competitor.

And guys i just wanna know is 5D2 weather sealed?

cheers

5DMkII is weather sealed but it also depends on the lens that you use. All my primes are not weather sealed lenses so I won't be shooting in the rain or snow.

But i am confuse as some ppl says that 5d2 is nt as weather sealed. compared to 7d.

Guys, consider this... Canon has more experience with using CMOS sensors... Nikon only switched to CMOS sensors only a couple of years (2006 on the D200 body) ago. Nikon has been using CCD sensors for a long time.

What's the point here? Further you're wrong, D200 uses a CCD and not a CMOS sensor.

There will always be people who switch from C to N, and N to C... or C to S, and S to N, and S to C and N to S... have I exhausted the permutations? :bsmilie:

At the end, switching systems is helping our economy and the B&S section! ;)

How about P?;)

You want switch what also can! Happy can already, enjoying taking PICS.

Nice Bokeh/Body/function are all perspectives. If your perspective see Canon le! No need find excuses to drop the Nikon in you.

Just get what you want that makes you feel ready for photo shooting!

Before selling, people send their gears for cleaning even minor dust.
So they are helping the part-time repairman as well :bsmilie:

No need for those people who point out f1.2 lenses etc cos they never gonna own all of them anyway. There are brands that have f0.95 too but that won't make me change since I'm not abt to own such lenses.
Focus on the things that you Actually use.

Very strange that some newbies even compare the brand's line up of f1.4 lenses when fact of the matter is many of such are not even about to part with their money for even a f2.8 zoom. Banal talk right?

The frightening thing is that there are many, many photographers who DO own f1.4 lenses and f2.8 zooms. Some of whom photographically speaking are very much newbie while others are maybe average on a good day ^.^

Here's just some more information for the TS.

Having been with Canon for the past 3 months, I have gone back to Nikon. Simply because I was made an offer I couldn't refuse.

Now my head is exploding relearning the Nikon way. I've come to like the buried custom functions and easy access of the jogwheel. Why why why!!?!

I wouldn't go as far as to say the 5Dii is weather sealed. It certainly has a degree of weather sealing but nothing to the extent of real weather sealing when compared to the 1D series.

For example, comparing my 5Dii to the 1Diii and 1DsmkII, the "sealing" on the 5Dii is really just "weather proofing." I wouldn't trust my 5Dii in the wet mainly due to it's cheap build quality and lack of 1D sealing.

although d700 is cheaper and the build is better, i prefer canon because of the wider variety of lenses and is much cheaper then nikon. Just to quote another example nikon 70-200 = 70-160mm so what for sticking to nikon if they produce this kinda of things.

You can still buy the 70-200VR1.

you r right, just look back at all the posting TS made, Banal talk only.:bsmilie:

Nikon just release a new 16-35 VR lens and 24 f1.4. Both brands are agressive in releasing new products so it may be a good idea to stick to which brand you currently own. Anyway, I think you've mentioned that you'll be keeping your D90.

if it makes you happy. change~

I've tried D700, 5D and 5DII. Full frame is defintely worth the upgrade from crop sensor SLR for image quality - I'll never go back to crop : ) IMHO, all 3 produce about the same pictures, even more irrelevant if you do post processing. I think invest in the lens you want then decide which body to suit. At the end its your art (pictures) that speaks the results not your equipment. I find both Nikon and Canon about same for complexity of usage. dont buy the latest and greatest that is released, so at the end I decided on the lens i wanted (canon primes) and a 5D was naturally the choice as I didnt need the features of the new 5DII.. cheers..

So you mean to say that crop bodies do not produce the same image quality as FF? In what aspect are you comparing the quality? Can you give me examples?

I am a D3 user , I still use my S5 Pro. Now I even wanted a m43 system which is EP-L1.

strange, my sensor getting smaller & smaller. ;p

Below 2 pict are taken by a D3S(Full frame) & a EP-2(M43), can tell the different? ;p

If you can't produce good pict, dont find excuses & find fault with your system.
