CF card prices

heh no worries..

anymore prices? $130 ext III 4GB.. what bout lexar? i realised most shops don't seem to have lexars nowadays except for AP.

When a supposedly "choice of professionals" card starts to become unreliable... No prizes for guessing what happens next. "Next better player..."

I used to work in SLS and my ex-colleague told me there are cases of CF & SD cards sold by Active Foto got problem then Convergent refused to service them. Convergent claims those cards are high quality fakes. Not GREY but fakes. Quite reliable source as I know her for years already and she wun bluff me cos I'm not buying from her anyway.

So surprised they were selling 2GB SD cards at $23 2 months ago when everyone else was at least selling at $38. Now I understand the reason...

i realised that this is a baseless statement without solid proof and I wish to withdraw it unreservedly. Admin/Mods pls help me remove the above post if possible. I would like to apologise sincerely to the shop mentioned regardless of the reply from Kingston Taiwan or Convergent Singapore.

woahh that's a serious accusation eh? not flaming you but just a word of caution to be careful when making such statements online. ;)

Actually, he is bringing awareness but implicated Convergence. LOL.

anyone bought any CF cards recently?
would like to know the market price for sandisk ultraII, ext III (2GB and 4GB) cards and perhaps lexar..

thanks in advance!

Hey bro, I bought a 8GB Ridata recently for S$198. You might want to top up a little and get a 8GB. I have used Transcend 4GB for over a year and it was a good performer... sometimes there is no need to pay so much for Extreme cards unless you are a full on machine gunner. By the way, the Ridata is slightly slower than the Transcend, but still very stable so far. Been using it for 3 months and filling it up all the time without bad sectors and problems. Last heard, price dropping a little again after June, which is Computex Taiwan.

Its a far cry from when I bought a 1gig kingston (Standard speed) in late'04 for $170! = )

I bought a 8 GB Transend 150x CF card from Orient Photo about 2 weeks ago for $170. So far no problem. I have a few Transend cards and I like them as they have given me no problems whatsoever.

Sorry, it should be 120X instead of 150x.

in fact i'm still loving my lexars. wonder why they changed to the platinum or something. i did a transfer of the lexar 80x 2gb WA with my PD70x and it's faster than the extreme III 2gb.
the lexar is around 13mb while the extreme III is around 12mb.
