The use of names are confusing ppl... so just look for 50x, 133x or 266x stated on the packaging instead of going by name. Kingston may be upgrading it's line up. Elite Pro might be 133x & Ultimate goes 266x.

But i bought this new type of 266x. The quality maybe not so good, though it's cheap. After i took out CF card to copy to P.C, I pop back in the camera... a few photos, like 1/10 of it, appears as error, when i scroll through again... i have never experienced such a thing with any other CF cards tat i have used before, Transcend 120x, Transcend 266x, Sandisk Extreme III, even PenDrive 133x from Malaysia also never happened before...

Kinda disappointed with Kingston now... seems like they dropped in quality.

Looks like you may have ended up with a defective unit. Just blame it on bad luck. All products made by any manufacturers will have some levels of failure in the field. They might be cause by poor handling, transportation or the problem only surface at the customer hands. That is why they created a department call "service centers".

Maybe you should bring it back to have it replace since you just bought it new.

yeap. ive used three kingston CFs so far, all elite pros. never given me a single problem. once when i suspected i had a problem, i just brought it to convergent and tehy gave me a new one in exchange no questions asked.

Replacement is secondary, just imaging that you return from a oversea holiday to realise you card is having error. Replace you with 100 pcs for 1 defective still can't bring back the pictures that are gone.

So reliable card is the most important.

Oh, I heard of camera shop stop selling Kingston because of reliability problem.

My 6 months old 2gb cf transcend 120x went corrupted suddenly 2 weeks ago.
Lucky to retrieve back all photos with recovery software.

I got a Scandisk 2 Gb Extreme III CF at the SITEX for $65.

Just hook one Sandisk Extreme IV 4GB Ducati Limited Edition+ S$10 Macdonald + Ducati motor bike model = S$179

Just checked: Best Bargain at Sim Lim selling the 4GB Elite Pro 133x for S$60.50.

I went down to Active foto in SLS yesterday, wanting to buy 2 CF cards. They don't have any Sandisk at all, and the stickered Kingston prices were higher than what they posted in HWZ.:thumbsd:

Best Bargain was closed for stock taking.

Ended up buying Transcend cards at memory world instead.

sometimes i wonder if its even half worth the trouble going down to sls for slightly cheaper price... have to bargain like mad and the sale people there seems to just want to take u for a ride...

i guess i had enough of camera pple from sls... its a place for computer bargains period. if only singapore consumers have a right to vote "Black shop of the year" i guess many shops in sls would qualify. Last straw was a guy actually tried to sell me a ultra II for $90 bucks yesterday, and its one of the "better" shops as commented by the bros here

couldn't believe it... didn't even want to look at that guy and just walked out. MAkes me sad to know that they are earling money this way... :thumbsd:
