extreme III 2gb comes with Capture One LE as well as sandisk Rescue Pro software.
so for me, apart from speed diff, these 2 programs are quite nice to have as well. not sure if you still can d/l them for free or not.
lexar pro 4gb comes bundled with their image rescue and some corel photo editor as well.

If you have all the time in a day, you can beat them down on there prices quite a bit.
When I fist go into the store, they're like $300 for 4gb extreme3, which eventually works it's way down to less then your lowest advertised prices on this forum.
Same with everything I try to buy. I guess eventually these guys will realize I'm not a tourist, and will stop wasting my time...
For those who asked, capture one is still inside the extreme3 boxes, and its pretty good software.

Got my Sandisk Extreme III 4GB at S$105 . Bought it at AP in SLS. Seems that 4gb is the most sellable as most of the shop run out of stock.
For 2gb Sandisk Extreme III , the price is now below $70.
