Cathay Instalment Plans!

I just called in the afternoon to enquire about a EF 70-200mm f/4L USM.

They quoted me $1040 incl GST and if i choose to pay my credit card instalment, it will be at 0% interest and no additional charges like extra 5% for credit card.

Is it true that it is possible?

Why won't it be true?

Any store which takes part in bank credit card installment schemes would already have any admin costs etc factored in the retail price.

i enquired MS. they quoted me with additional 5% charge for using instalment plans.

so i was wondering why cathay dun have that extra 5%

If you are more incline to buy from MS, then you should tell Florence that Cathay has this no interest installment, I am sure Florence will think of something to match that offer from Cathay.

if pay by credit card,
1. cathay = $1,040
2. ms = $1,092

is this what you are saying?

yah. that was why im not sure is the offer too good to be true

The prices quoted by Cathay have already taken into consideration of such charges unless you specifically tell them that you are paying by cash. Probably they will give you some disct from cash payment.

i guess not so. just last month i enquired about the 70-200mm f/4L USM, cash payment is SGD$1050 incl GST.

i just enquired yest. the same lens is going for SGD$1040 incl GST and no additional fees using credit card.

weird

so far all my purchases made at cathay using 0% installment, I was charged the exact price quoted by them. In your case, $1040 means $1040nett.

If you decide to buy from them, just go down with your credit card, sign for the purchase, that will solve all doubts. They will not quote you $1040 and secretly add 5% to your credit bill when you hand them your card.

yup, hopefully its the case.

i was just checking. dun wanna make a wasted trip down.

Why not? :)

Buy with confident dude... i purchase my lens there, oso no additional charges. is nett price breakdown into monthly installment..

wow, arlrights. will be going down to get my 70-200. cheers!

i see many ppl are paying their lens thru instalment plans....

didn't know about the 0% installment plan :( just bought a lens last week from cathay, paid using citibank cc, can i still opt for it?

if you can afford why bother... monthly installment is a pain...

$1040 may seem to be a small and reasonable amount and light on your pocket under installment plan. To be honest this amount is not huge compared to many lenses and i advise you to make purchase with the cash you have on hand.

However, the BBB may just get worse when you realize the there are too many Ls to buy.

"$3500 for the 85L II... aiyah i just pay by installment plans."

SGD has risen recently. I saw an overall drop in prices in Nikon stuff as well. Prices do fluctuate you know.

To my experiences, CP charge with a little disct with cash payment. As for Installment plans, they will fix a price upon CC payment. If Im not wrong, it includes GST charges.

they are pretty honest with their pricings, they have a reputation to protect =) buy with confidence =)
