thanks.....we had a blast shooting in Halong Bay....the only small regret is not brining LONG lens to shoot eagles....

Old Quarters is busy and busking with life....lots of street shots...up-close and personal interactions with the locals....

its a trip where Halong Bay should be in the itinerary...and multiple visits are encouraged...

What's the focal length for eagles shot?

Old Quarter is the place to shoot in Hanoi? I got only 1 or 2 days days...

For shooting any eagles or birds, min lens length is 300mm and above. If u want to know more as around those birds shooter or u can ask USM he is good at bird shooting.

Old Quarter is a good place for street shooing. 1 or 2 days is enough but if u want to include Halong Bay inside ur Hanoi trip, then its not enough. Very rush for you. U can consider more days so that you will not tired out too much and not miss too much things to enjoy.

4) Have a map with you. (streets in old quarter is a mess)
5) night market in old quarters only open on fri, sat and sun nite. (1800 - 1200 local time)

The old quarters...3 lakes....cathedral....rail tracks....museums....basically all covered....

plus lots of locals......

I like #2 & #4,
But others, I feel it is a bit too much (in terms of trying to capture the motion). But again this is just personal preference.
