i think the best adjustments for underexposed photos would be to adjust Levels (position the white and black clips, adjust any midtones), and after that, use the Shadow/Highlight tool, but keep the percentages low (abt <20) if not halos will start appearing. After all that, if not satisfied with the colour, you can play around with Curves, and try to achieve something like a mild S-shape.. if you've got CS3, then there's a dropdown menu to select "Medium Contrast"..not sure abt the interface on CS2.. that's my workflow around these photos, hope it helps :)

Interestingly, if you guys notice that those who opposed to the coffee session are all not Canon Users. We have 2 Nikon users opposing to it. I wonder why? :dunno: Instigated by someone?

Therefore, I would like to stress again that this polling is meant for Canon Users only. Don't vote for the sake of voting.

Thank for letting us in on this.... interesting. Peaceful co-existence is difficult it seems....

Sorry brother, do highlight coming events soon.. am eager to meet!!

Beautiful! Shot with the 17-40L? What settings?

Yupz. Both are shot in Av mode. The first pic is f/11, 1/160, ISO 100. The 2nd one is f/8, 1/400, ISO 100.

I suppose they just want some attention or make fun of Canon users.

HaHa Brother USM got a pair of sharp eyes to spot those Nikon users. Anyway, Its best to respect each other. Clearly this is a Canon users get to know and meet up. Lets not be hasty like them, if not we will end up like them. LOL.... (PS: we are here not to start any brand war. just want to learn and make frz) hahahah

Maybe its good to have opposing polls. It helps to make this poll look more balanced and unbiased.

I am sure, too, that many photographers have more than one brand. It may be a film cam or mini digicam. Being associated to a certain brand may not mean much. It is how one make the equipment work towards certain objectives. Sometimes I hear people say, "oh thats a leica guy." It doesnt quite mean much until he showcases his works. Having an f1.0 Noct lens wouldnt mean much either if he or she cant even control exposure within a given tough lighting condition (eg high contrast ratio).

I would hope to join you guys for outings next time, but my current schedule could not quite allow.

Press on guys and well done.

Yes, I do agree with you to a certain extent. It is good to have opposing views, votes, etc so that we can have a more balanced view, etc. However, at this junction, you may want to search on those nicknames and draw your conclusion.

My point is - think before you cast your vote. It doesn't matter whether you are Canon or Nikon or even Lecia users, but be more objective when you vote.

Sorry for the delay, here are some of my shots
