theITguy said:End of the day it is still about equipment (is it not Canon?). It is still better to go out with people that has other equipment other than your own (eg different brands) so you will not get that Buy Buy Buy effect on yourself. IMO there are a lot of resources online to provide you the information to make an informed decision. As for newbies, get them to learn using the search function either here or www.google.com

USM said:Brother, I also agreed with you. You should also go out with users of different brands for specific outing, such as bird shooting for example regardless of brands.
Having said that, the purpose of the Canon User Group is to bring Canonians together, something like an exclusive club only for specific members.
The success of this gathering depends on the participating rates. It's not compulsory, etc. If others can do it, why can't CANON? Don't forget, Canon is the market leader.
Like what I had said before, we should be matured, unbiased and objective, so why spread he BUY BUY BUY virus? Everyone knows that L lenses are great, but are they the best in the world or to your best needs, etc? We should analyse each individual's situation and prescript a best medication for each individual. What's the 'fool' to ask people to buy buy buy just because that lens is the best of its kind.
We, Canonians should dare to differ from others.![]()

Fortunately, it's a 'Canon' and not a brand with the letter 'F' :bsmilie:
