but this isnt with digic III. i think the real test would be to see how Ixus 900TI performs with ISo3200 and DIGIC III. wondering if it can finally compare to F30
saw samples of 900 Ti's 1600 shots.. really cmi at ALL.but this isnt with digic III. i think the real test would be to see how Ixus 900TI performs with ISo3200 and DIGIC III. wondering if it can finally compare to F30
u probably won't get much feedback as it's newly launched.. do a search for sample pics at dpreview forum.. there're samples there with rants.I am considering this cam mainly for the 28mm, the DIGIC III and the 200K LCD.
Appreciate any new owner's feedback on the cam... esp on the soft corners at 28mm.
Alternative for me is the A710IS.
I tried the 850 IS at the shop... the LCD seems to flicker but it is sharp.
I also tried to zoom while taking video... I head the lens zoom... sound and look like optical zoom during video taking... can anyone verify this ?
Can anyone advise on a good street price ?
$729 list... Will I be able to get it at $650 with gst ?
Thanks...
did some shadow noise tests at various ISO settings with the Ixus 850 IS at a shop. seems quite usable up to ISO400.....All pics are 100% crop (600x400) from the original pics. No processing done. Camera was set to use default settings with ISO changed.
ISO800

At ISO800, IXUS 850 really no way match to F30...
I guess, it is either u take IXUS 850 for its 28mm or F30 for its high ISO performance.
Wow! Good price. I feel cheated. Hur hur. Anyway, how come you can upgrade the card? Isn't it a free gift from Canon that you have to collect from harbourfront?
must say handling feels goodfocussing and operations are pretty fast too. have too many digicompacts though, else might have gotten it ;p
ISO 800 probably is ok if printed. Let me run some noise processing later and see if the results are good.
