I think the Wide Converter would be most useful. On several occasions, I had difficulties trying to include everyone in the group photo in an enclosed room. I have some questions:
1. Is it easy to put on/off the adapter and converter? Or do I leave it on the camera?
2. If I leave it on the camera, does it affect any other function? All functions including zoom still work? Can the lens cover fit?
3. How does the camera look like with the adapter and converter? Any pictures?
4. The adapter and converter are listed at $59 and $199. Will the 3rd party products be cheaper?
alrite.. i'll try to answer ur qns. accordin to experience.
1. To me, if i fix e thread of e adapter and converter properly, screwin on e wide angle is rather easy.. if nt, it can be rather time consumin. i wld recommend dat u take e converter off when u wanna take other subjects dat require zoom.. when u zoom, e wide converter no longer takes effect and it's redundant to leave it on. furthermore, it affects e img. quality.. but as i've mentioned abt. e convenience of takin it in and out, juz remove e adapter frm e camera itself.
2. Other functions work perfectly wif e converter on.. IS, zoom, video. all works.. but u haf to sacrifice light. one f. stop down.. and ur lens cap frm e camera will NOT fit. however, e wide converter comes wif a cap and a case.. so it's ok.
3. Sry.. But i personally do not own e S3 so i canT post pics. of e camera wif e wide converter.
4. Sure will.. Datz y they are called third party. much cheaper.. but u muz note dat wif canon converters, img. quality suffers already. third party ones wld probably affect it more.. but guess u can try out at some shops and see which u prefer. any wide converter of 58mm is sufficient..
All in all, it's rather useful to haf e wide converter.. Though i hardly use it. One thin i hope e converter doesnT haf is dat extra thread.. Tis prevents addin a polarizer before e wide angle. But well, i suppose too much glass wld ruin e quality of e picture..
