is it really comfortable and useful?
=) which camera are u using?
It is more comfortable than the canon strap given with the camera...erm, can't really comment on the usefulness. Let's just say it fits my use pattern.

I'm using 50D.

I'm not using both together, but just say one day I want to use the Crumpler ID another day R-strap, pretty cumbersome to be changing the CID in & out often. Just wonder are there any quick-release straps around?

Yup. Optech Pro Loop Strap. Matin also has a quick release strap, though I'm not certain on the designation.

Thanks! Just the info I'm looking for!

hmmm was comparing my Industry Disgrace with ma fren's RED one he bought from vivo. The original ID seems to be a lot bigger and better padded. I also find the original ID to be more comfy. It is the same but different.

mebbie we should find or share ways to modify the strap to quick-release, anywhere to buy secure quick-release (either carabiner or plastic clips) that don't need stitching?

You can look at lighting equipment, where the carabiners they use are smaller. These carabiners are intended to be used in conjunction with a steel safety cable as a failsafe, should the lighting fixture come off its intended attachment area, so it should be able to take quite a fair bit of weight.

These carabiners are still too thick to go through the camera eyelets (doubt you will find a carabiner thin enough to do that), but you can figure out some way of attachment from the eyelet to the carabiner, one carabiner to one eyelet. Then find some way of making the ID strap compatible to these carabiners, such that you can quick release via the two carabiners.

As for where to purchase them, I'm not too sure, but places that sell professional lighting should carry these, so check the Sim Lim Tower area.

I'm using the R strap instead... but I like the loudness of Canon Red ID!!!!!! I think I'll get one and test it out. If it doesn't suit my use then I'll put it on my old 1973 EF. Haha

stock is in @ canon link vivo - $36.

Erm, both of you have a point, can we agree to disagree? Let's keep the discussion on the strap before the thread gets locked up. :)

This is 1 of the best thread entries I have ever read.

Yo dude..just got mine yesterday!! they have stock!! no regrets getting it!!
