is this strap really worth the $36?? my neoprene one is tearing and i need a new strap soon...or i'll use back the orignal canon one

u can just buy the crumpler industry disgrace at 26(?) instead of the canon branded one. its almost exactly the same.

my Optech strap has been with me since 10 years ago. still working well. has seen my upgrades from an old Minolta film SLR to my current 40D set up.

been to a few countries with it, no load bearing problems on my neck. and when I need to unload it quickly, the quick release clips make it almost effortless in unloading it.

I figured the Canon strap you guys are looking for will be a nice promotional tool for them... but I value comfort over promotional opportunities in a case like this. until I try one out for myself, I think I'll still side with the Optech strap.

Try the R-Strap instead. I personally will not go back to a normal strap after using it, not even a load-bearing one like Optech. I think the Crumpler is nice, but not really functional, as it is very bulky, but the bulk does not add real function to it.

i have been thinking about the r-strap for a while, but didn't have the chance to try it out

Just to check are they still selling this strap?

Got 2 pieces on Wednesday. They should have some left... :)

They still have i just went ....they still have it at the showroom

I still saw it at canon vivo showrm this week, other than that the canon digital lab at keppel bay tower also has display.
