Just some food for your thoughts ... for about the same price, one may be able to pick up a used EOS 300! ;)

Not sure if he wants to get used cam. But having the free dry cabinet does means that the EOS 66 kit is effectively only ard $300.. ;)

Btw.. the kit comes with 28-80 lens. I can only find the following EF 28-80 lens in canon's website.. Would this be the right one? How good is this lens?

- EF 28-80mm f/3.5-5.6 II

Sorry, accidentally clicked on the 'Edit' button. :embrass:

Well, what you pay is what you get; it's a kit lens (given away free) and unless one intends to develop large prints, the differences are not a big deal.

I am using a EOS66 too ;p
This camera is serving all my basic needs very well , if i am not wrong , the major difference betwn EOS66 (3 focus pts 6-zone evaluative metering) and EOS300 (7 focus pts 35-zone evaluative metering) . I personally think that is a good basic slr camera for beginners .

B.T.W the link for the promotion is not working

i'm thinking of getting the 66 too
is it a good buy for my first SLR??
because of a tight budget
anyone selling a full manual SLR?
cheap?
if any, pls do PM me thanks :)

having bought eos88 2 yrs ago as my starting cam, my advice is get a 2nd hand eos300 for the same price and from a photographer. its definitely worth it.
