for the ppp, thinkin of trading in my dslr. Do i have to include the kit lens or will the cam body do?

The program give 20.5% right? For the new cam, do i have to opt for full price purchase or is there instalment plan?

Keep ur lens, just trade wif any cheapo spoil cam will do.

Just came back from Canon Customer Care Centre yesterday. Traded in a non-working Ixus 400 and asked for the 600D Kit II under the PPP.
RRP was $1549 w/GST. After discount, the price I have to pay was $1274. Collection will be in a few days time. Also, I am entitled to purchase (under PWP) both the 75-300 and the 50/1.8 at special discounted price of $249 and $60 respectively. For the latter, I will have to do online registration on the spot, print out the registration and use that to purchase the 50/1.8 on the spot.

Is this considered a good deal?
I intend to get the 50/1.8 ($60)
Is it worth getting the 75-300 as well? ($249)

I have done some research and local renowned shops are still retailing the 600D at $1368+ (cash).

Sounds like a pretty good deal. The nifty fifty @ $60 is also a good price. Enjoy your new gear! :)

Does anyone know whether S100 is also available on PPP yet? Also on DSLR, the highest model is 600D right? or up to 60D?

I just received email asking about S100 and the following is the reply i get:

We do not reveal the privilege purchase price only upon customer send in the faulty camera to our Customer Care Centre. The promotion free gift will base on our current Canon Website listing.

PS: The PowerShot S100 is not available for Privileged Purchase Program yet.

Yes, I believed so. The highest model you can get under PPP would be the 600D body/Kit I/Kit II
The free gift sux. the current promo only give you 8GB SD card and EOS bag.
However, you are entitled to purchase (PWP) the 50mm/f1.8 at $60 and the 75-300mm at $249.

The highest model is 600D.
However, don't think you can do purchase with purchase for PPP.

If you can, then I need to go back and bang their table .... :)
Coz, I got my 600D through PPP and specifically ask for the PWP at the service counter but they say cannot.

The lady who served me didn't say PWP was not applicable, but that the promo was over. I was just there yesterday. Oh well, the PPP is still worth it regardless.

Nope. The PwP programme is still very much alive and kicking.
Up till 03 Jan 12, you can purchase:

- 50mm f/1.8 at a special discounted price of $60 (promo ended on 3 Jan 12)
- and EF 75-300 III USM at $249 instead of the usual price of $429 (this promo is still ongoing)

Now, you can only get the 75-300. 50mm is no longer available under PwP.

Info: I just obtained my 600D through PPP on 4 Jan 12. Managed to get the 50mm lens as I had placed my order on 29 Dec 11, before the promo ended.

Good for you then. But it's still true the PWP for the 50mm is over :) Missed it by 2 days. I didn't ask about the 75-300 as I am not interested in this lens.

erm, honestly, i don't know.
coz i have not been following the street price

i trade in my slr for 600d body at $863 coz i would prefer to recycle the body then juz sell it to garang guni (the old body is faulty now)

the wait at the cs is short and cso was quite ok
so, no complains on canon service
only wondering if they can give a better price knowing most ppl here got 20% +- 0.5%

You trade in your camera to canon itself or where?

wat do i need to bring for the ppp?
do i need to pay first?

Any canon camera, spoilt also can. You trade it in for a new model, compact or dslr up to xxxD series. CSC doesn't carry any stock, so they will order it n u collect about a week later. You pay for it at the point of collection.
