Recently just return from my japan alps trip bringing S95 along and it survive a -4 degree 2hr continuous outdoor shooting. Still working fine now. Last yr brought a canon dslr and a other brand digicam to Swiss alp of -14 degree and the dslr also survive the trip. But not the other brand digicam. Hope this helps

Because I'm having a trip to Harbin which now is -7°C to -29°C. Looks like I'm unable to bring over but if only near to 0°C.

Thanks for all e price updates. Everywhere is funan is sold out except TK photo yesterday. Got a S95 for my wife for $600 with case, 8gb card & screen protector. Think it's ok considering the cheapest elsewhere is $589 with case & 8gb card. An additional screen protector is ard $10 too.

For those who prefers to shoot in RAW, you probably know by now that the aspect ratio is fixed at 4:3 in S95. This was quite a disappointment for me until I realized that I can select RAW+JPG and by doing so, 3:2 becomes selectible. Both JPG and RAW are therefore in 3:2 AR.

No need to go underwater. Just safe enough to bring it along
taking picture at poolside.

there out options for it. You can get one of those waterproof pouches from Outdoor Life @ Novena. Or easiest just to get a underwatercasing for it.

I bought a DiCaPac for it. WP-510.

Took a couple of videos underwater. But sound wasn't really good as there was quite a bit of bathers around...

Kept my camera safe and dry though. :thumbsup:

Footnote, the camera does not sit exactly in a tight fit and will move around a lil.. so you may get some vignetting when the lens is blocked partially.

Hmm does anyone find the top plastic exterior of s95 rather squeaky? cause mine quite squeaky when pressed, weird and tad irritating...
