I agree. I had both lenses before. The Sigma is significantly sharper and has negligible CA compared to the Canon. The downside is focusing is slower and noisier on the Sigma as no USM. If the canon was bundled free like in the past, then its more worthwhile. Else i'll get the sigma as its sharper for both macro and general usage. Most CSers would agree its a good lens.

1) it is a known fact there is always a danger of not being able to be use with latest slr/dslr.
