Also think of the lens you are going buy for the camera,Perhaps it will made your choice easier. look for the brand that offer you the best range of lens and price.eg 18-55(VR),55-200(vr)or 70-300(Vr)etc.

Perhaps everybody has asked this question to him/herself some time in life.
I made the decision based on the look (design).;p I like the Nikon look. So i bought F75. I like the D70 look. So i bought D70. Now I am a Nikon fan Ridiculous as it may sounds, it works for me. Rather than tossing coins....

Read up and test both brands before considering.. every system has their advantages and disadvantages.. consider other brands also..

Danged! That's a huge market they're losing out on.

Remember how rich Apple got after they launched the iMac and all of a sudden, the womens' markets were opened? That's a market segment with huge purses and a very high emotional buy element. :think:

I think they are starting small with all the colorful and cutesy little PNS .. I believe if enuff fashion concious woman starts picking up the hobby, they would eventually cater to that segment too. Everybody wants free publicity from someone who looks good ... =P

They (camera manufacturers) have underestimated the womens' market. A small but distinct segment of the womens' markets have already gotten hooked on photography, albeit in a slightly different way. The trick is, instead of waiting for the market to develop, they should take the lead by creating the market. If just wait ... this is just like the typically reversed and myopic Singaporean way of promoting say ... sporting excellence.

P.S. lsisaxon, I always have a velcro panel in front of my camera. Any brand or model you want, i can put there - if the price is right. :bsmilie:
