Canon G10

bro not considering Nikon P6000?

did you make a comparison?

Perhaps you can do a search of the reviews regarding the P6000 and its picture quality. By a significant margin and with good reason it falls behind the sales of the LX-3 and the G10. ...:dunno:

How far away are the subjects from the camera? The built-in flash is not very powerful, if they're quite far away, probably not enough power to light up the subjects.

What metering mode are u using? make sure the metering is on the subject. If it meters for background, your subject will be over exposed.

i use evaluative mode, u r rite my metering is on the background...i understand now. Anyway how much more will an external flash improve?

hello all, apple has released RAW support for G10! great news for aperture users.

still pissed with adobe for not releasing ACR support for CS3 users :(

Just download the Adobe DNG convertor for free and you can convert the RAW files also. One step extra but it's free.

thanks bro Parka, i do have the DNG converter. but i shoot primarily in RAW, so when the number of images go to the hundreds, one less step means a lot of time saved :)

hi...
just wondering where you guys bought G10 from and what's the price u got it for ? still trying to look for the best deal

i done a research on G10 vs G9.

there is a down grade from HD to VGA.

is it critical? In what sense?

can anyone shine some lights?thanks

I have yet to use the video function of my G10 :) hence the downgrade is non-issue to me. So it really depends how much emphasis you put on video functionality to decide if it's really critical to your usage.

Any users tried on the video function?

Can post?

i just got a G10 yesterday,
wonder is there a need to get those

can anyone here help?

no need unless you need.

To get the most out of your camera, you probably need only the following (at least for a very long time)

1. Lens / Filter adapter tube -> To mount Polarizer filter, Neutral Density filter
2. Circular Polarizer filter, Neutral Density filter
3. Tripod

Additional items like external flash can wait until you find that you're impeded in taking your photos without them.

The wide and tele converters are strictly only for 'fun', most people don't "need" them, but rather "want" them.

necessary to have higher optical zoom?

why there is a down grade?

The G10 start from 28 mm.... :)

Aperture....

Need some help here pls...totally newbie. I wanted to have some effect on my photo in a way that the focus point is sharp and the background is blur. I did some reading up and i tried seting the it to F2.8 and shot. But it end up no different here.....am i doing something wrong here ?

Difficult to get good bokeh with a compact. You probably have to move closer to the subject (to throw background even more out-of-focus)

.
