ISO 800

ISO1600

iso at 800 is quiet good at this type of small size image.... got bigger one to see?

Just click on the images to go to their pages. There are size options for the max 14.7MP.

The only shop that I saw the G10 in sydney was selling it at $730 AUD. Didnt manage to see those prices as listed in the website

my friend in AUZ is telling me about this too

do a search on G10. the words are too small to slowly search.

G10 selling for 603 auz including tax of 11%. that is if u leave within 30 days u bought the camera.
lets do some sums.
AUZ 536.67 + 11% GST = AUZ603
and by http://finance.yahoo.com/currency/convert?from=SGD&to=AUD&amt=1
SGD$1 = AUZ 1.01
means in singapore dollars after VAT refund the thing cost ........

S$531.36 with australian warranty. i think no international warranty.
at the airport they can show receipt to the counter and get back the refund.

it used to be cheaper few weeks ago. when the sing dollar was stronger to auz dollar then now.

singapore is no longer the place for cheapest electronics.

Hi Parka, your iso 1600 looked too good compared to mine or reviews online. Was it processed in any way ? even in RAW before conversion ?

I'm also shocked that they look that good because this is the first time I tried it at ISO 1600.

They are converted by Adobe DNG's convertor, opened in Lightroom and exported as 80% jpeg. No post processing or anything.

Used the G10 for awhile. IQ is fine but find it neither a compact or fast as for a DSLR. Most lacking feature is an articulated LCD. For the price and zoom range, I would rather pay a little more for a Panasonic G1.

Why no reply from this guy?

Most likely fake.....

just noticed that the G10 went backwards to vga in video - the G9 has video at 1024x768 ie high def.

OK I know that this is not a video cam, but surprised still they went backwards, HD video would definitely be useful for the odd occasion. anyone know if this will be fixed in future firmware upgrades ?

with respect to shutter lag:

http://www.digitalcamerareview.com/default.asp?newsID=3775&review=canon+powershot+g10

PERFORMANCE
Timings and Shutter Lag
Those familiar with the G9 won't be at all surprised to learn that the G10 scores better than average marks on the timings side of our testing.

Shutter Lag (press-to-capture, pre-focused)
Camera Time (seconds)

  • Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W300 0.02
  • Canon PowerShot G10 0.03
  • Fujifilm FinePix F60fd 0.05
  • Nikon Coolpix P6000 0.06
  • Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX3 0.08
But AF acquisition as posted above, not tip top:
AF Acquisition (press-to-capture, no pre-focus)

Camera Time (seconds)

  • Fujifilm FinePix F60fd 0.42
  • Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX3 0.46
  • Canon PowerShot G10 0.52
  • Nikon Coolpix P6000 0.61
  • Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W300 0.67

How far away are the subjects from the camera? The built-in flash is not very powerful, if they're quite far away, probably not enough power to light up the subjects.

What metering mode are u using? make sure the metering is on the subject. If it meters for background, your subject will be over exposed.
