i'm lazy to do a price check on the G10 now. anyone know's what it's going for? HAHA.
also, a few months back, it was cheaper to get it from aussie land, any idea if it still is?

I moved from the g9 to the Lx3...and I don't have the G10, but to provide a rough review assuming that the G9 and G10 are similar, I have to say that the controls on the lx3 are very easy or popularish but not at all like the DSLR controls you find on the g9 (or G10).
Build quality is also vastly different, G9 having much better weight, feel, balance and quality of materials and parts overall. the "shutter lag" and responsiveness of the Lx3 feels better than the G9 though.

I was in Sydney las week. Cheapest I have seen is with Camera House. They are selling the G10 for AUD 660 (incl GST) and the bonus is foreigners will get a 10% refund upon leaving the country. Therefore the nett price after GST refund is AUD 600 which roughly translates to SGD 600 - 602 depending on the day's exchange rate.
The other interesting place to puchase a G10 is in Korea. I believe the going price is approximately KW 515,000 which is approximately SGD 520. Stocks are limited

just got an e-quote from MS color $770 (incl. GST) comes with 8gb SDHC card and screen protector
alan photo, checked this week... currently no stock. but they are selling at $770 (incl. GST) too but only the 8gb card, no screen protector.
I'm gonna get it soon. anyone know of any place with better prices or diff freebies package?

I also interested in G10 , just checked in IT Show Suntec, it sold 869$ (include 8GB card+tripod+and bag). Do you think it's worth ? Any recommendation for the cheapest store for G10.
Last time checked in Canon Jakarta, G10 was sold for Rp 5,500,000 (1 yrs international warranty). It will be about (690-700 SGD )

has anyone here switched to a wrist strap instead of using the default neck strap?
are there any less bulky looking ones available locally? Saw a few at CP but they look rather fat and bulky for just a wrist strap.

There's Phatstraps & Gordy's too. Came across another one recently which I thought was pretty good but didn't save the bookmark and I clearly forgotten the name! Gah.
The battery life is superb in my own personal experience. I've managed more than 280 shots per day of shoot with it on a mixture of flash and non flash shots. I think thats pretty reasonable for a day's outing.

Local US warty so no warrty when i get back to sg
I had 2 crap digital cam, fujifilm and kodak... both sucks la.
Very tempted to buy Nikon D80 but OC rejected it cos too bulky and not cheap.
This time I got it online for usd409, then i also buy Sandisk Exteme3 8gb for usd29.00.
I think not a bad deal la, provided i use it cautiously for 1yr in sg.
Now i am looking for a G10 case.. dilemma over these 2 choices...

Unfortunately, the casing is not available in Singapore at the moment. The one sold here (Canon Original) is more of a horizontal leather pouch with a magnetic flap closure and a buttoned loop to secure to one side of the shoulder strap. It sells for S$29 from CP.
I bought the SC-D60A from Narita Airport for 5600Yen (almost S$90)...
