frankling speaking, for a cam like 350D which lacks a number of essential functions and build as compared to the D70s, it is expected that its price would go down tremendously..the current price is still too high for 350D..not worth it.

Nothing surprising.

Look at how the D70s, which has real power, held its ground until now.

except for the look good and felt good factor & better ergonomic for d70s..image quality wise i still prefer canon 350D it rox!

Just some pointers to share with others who have the same dilemma.

Lens is always the most important part in a camera.
A good lens retain its resale value better than the body.
So concentrate your best $$ on lens.
$$ save on body means more $$ for lens and other essential accessories, especially
if you are on a budget.
If you won't mind 2nd hand 350D, you might get some very good deal at B&S coz ppl
always strike by the BBB virus  , even though their 350D is still new and good.
If you can wait and save up a bit more, the 30D is definitely a better body to choose.
Lastly, go try out all the bodies you have in your mind.
Buy the one that suits you best.

Some essential and useful accessories.

1)dry cabinet - prevent fungus
2)tripod - night shoot
3)flashlight - indoor photography.
3)remote control - fireworks shooting.
4)spare battery - for long hours of shooting.
5)battery grip - if you find the body too small for your hands.
6)extra CF cards - especially if you are a RAW person. :bsmilie:

Truely agreed. And perhaps you might consider 20D at B&S.

20D. if you are willing to get your equipment over at B and S. much better than thwe 350D or 400D. 5fps and better grip and control. not to mention 20D has one of the best noise handling capabilties.

Where? Can send me info on this shop? Thanks!!!

Kruder. I have the same problems when I was making my purchase of my first slr. Based on features I eventualy went for the 350D and no regrets not choosing the 400d. Price diff amount can buy more other better options accessories which I did.

350D w lens kit x 1 (bought 1 week ago)
Normal Tripod x 1
Sandisk 1gb CF Ultra II
UV protector x 1
Lowepro Rezo AW170 Bag x 1
Canon Selphy 510 Printer x 1 (FOC; worth $169)
Blower x 1

Total Spent: $1,360

Hope this give u some idea.

It's a good deal! I bought the CP510 for $169!

Now what's the next items to get? :D

i'm worried about storage, knowing how humid s'pore weather is. is it ok to store it in a bag or should i get a dry box asap?
