So, effective shutter speed with ND8 is only 1/60. Wah piang!! To get silky effect of waterfall in bright sunlight will need ND400 filter!?!?! Then, why is it people recommend ND4/ND8 filters to get those kind of shots?

3 stop is 1/250>1/125>1/60>1/30. so the effective is 1/30.
what ND400?

Cool. ND400 is cool. Can shoot the Sun without injuring your eye. Haha! :bsmilie:

You can go lower than 1/60 with ND8 filter on. Tripod is needed though.
Of course can. I was aiming for 1 sec or 1/3 at the very least. But with ND8, waterfall has to be well shaded or with heavy cloud cover or during the "magical" timings...

Not sure. But I tried a long exposure with my CPL + ND4 on punggol beach in daylight. I froze it. Haha! I never post because the overall composition is like shyt. Dumped into my rejected corner to rot. Haha! :bsmilie:

For me, I tried taking small streams in SBG with CPL to step down with 10 sec exposure before. Effect isn't that bad.

2 stop - 1/250 > 1/125 > 1/60
3 stop - 1/250 > 1/125 > 1/60 > 1/30

A ND8 + CPL should more than suffice right? Or, how about inverse stacking 2 CPLs??:think:
