Nia ma, do 2 years still complain waste time. I did 2.5 years, after that fail IPPT still must go RT, lagi waste time.

Went in as a 2.5yr liability soldier. Just before departure for overseas training, mindef gave us a power sent-off present - to reduce NS to 2 years. Haha!

A huge number of soldiers in my Bn ORD on the spot when the news came through and all overseas training preparations were halted and hanging in jeopardy.

I remember the WTF look on my CSM face as his CQ Sgt and Storeman ORD on the spot. Haha! High man. :bsmilie:

I don't see the purpose of NS. They tell us, that it is National Service. To make all the men prepared for war in an event of emergency. Who the freaking hell would maintain his body even after NS. Most would just jog around and do basic exercise. Would you even remember how to dis assemble your rifle 3 years down the road to clean it.


I think, NS needs to be more practical for emergency preparedness. Rather than host 2 years of an individual's life in waste, with about 6 months of the real thing, that you may see in war, and the rest of the period serving as cheap labour, is truely useless.


NS should be teaching the more essential things that would be useful during an emergency.

What can they do? No longer NSFs leh. All civilian liao.

I went back ICT. Go see MO for medical review. Zhai right? Then I thought I won't clear that key but leh, in the end, my OC cleared me. Haha! HK somemore.

OC still ask me where I want to help out. I opted for store not knowing that there's already more than enough storemen. =p

Sent out 13 CV and got response for interview by 4 companies. Economy is recovering, now thinking of excuses to come out for interview.
