Well, the built in flash won't be able to trigger an external flash. The 450D does have IR, but it's for the remote control only. To trigger flashes, you need a master external flash, + some slave flashes. Master being a 580EXII and slaves being 430EXII or othersI have a question here just out of curiosity, am i able to use the build in flash on my 450D to trigger the 430ex unattached under slave? Does 450D support IR?.....flash trigger or a master unit is the only answer?

Well, if you were to see it in this perspective, Nikon only makes cameras, lens and optical equippment. Nothing else, so all their research energy is going only into one area. Canon, makes printers, photocopiers + cameras, lens and optical equippment. They have much more to do R&D on. Canon is picking up on the technology, because Nikon is bringing in newer technology by the day. Just that they are a little slow. The internal flash trigger might be available next time on the newer camera.WOW your fast Gman.Yea that is what i was playing through.Well seems like the IR for 450D is limited.Well flash trigger or a master 550/580ex deffinatly will do the job and answer my Q.thanks man
Nikon has a flash commander so they can trigger ext flashes anytime......Damm Canon
I guess I will camp my 1st post over here this thread, since I planning to get 450D very soon, maybe before CNY.
Shifu, guide me if possible, because I will be asking lots of noob questions. Beginner going into dSLR world:bsmilie:
My 1st question, any good deal recently for 450D with kit lens 18-55m?
After 450D, my next purchase would be
1) EF 50 f/1.8 II
2) EF S18-200 f3.5-5.6IS
Do comment, not sure it is right choice a not:dunno:
I guess travel purpose? I read from other thread saying that is really useful for travel, that's why I make that as my next purchase. Of course, will only purchase when my next trip of traveling....Well I think most important is what kind of range do you really need? I through of getting a 55-250mm as my next purchase but after experiencing with the camera I feel that I don't really need a lens with such long range.
CP is alright. But they like to use the phrase "What you want" alot. Haha....which can be irritating at times. But they are one of the more famous shops. Has been there for a very long time. I don't mind their shop either. They at least ask what you are looking for.
Some shops that i won't go to are:
Bally photo - They seem to have the attitude that you owe them something.
MS colour - Poor experience, but i might still go to get small items like bags.
Song Brothers - A "bo chap" store.

Well, haha...you must be the value for money buyer then! Haha.
For me, once you establish a good record with a particular store, you tend to get better discounts, because of your loyalty. Doesn't work all the time, depends on the shop and the people.
