depends on what u shoot, and i know u shoot alot of stuff. lol. Lots of lens u will need i foresee. :bsmilie:

haha thats the why. but mostly nature and still life concepts i guess. i need bokehs, im enthralled by nice bokehs.

and in August , my cousin wants me as the photographer for his wedding which sucked cause i have to start now if not it will be a fiasco i guess. is 450D up for that?

read your manual carefully. instructions on how to perform this function can be found in the manual. you may access the menu and choose to delete all the pics on the card/format the card.

Use the in-camera function aka FORMAT. ;)

If want to retrieve formatted pics on the card, still got hope at least. Just do not use the card anymore and there's a software that can retrieve them back. My friend has the software but he doesn't want to tell me yet.

What a nice price. 888.

Well, I'm not sure. Where you got the price from?

why not a 2nd hand 400D, ive seen them going from 500 onwards. Then u can use the rest of the money for a better lens. just my 2 cents.

You might want to PM me for the software. I am working for IT industry, so I do have some. If you want, I will go and dig my harddisk;)

i've done wedding shoot. external flash is a must especially so if u're shooting indoors (eg the dinner). go read up on flash (since u have quite some time) cos there're alot of things u can do with external flash. Also you'd need to use a wide apeture & fast focusing zoom lens - i use 24-70 f/2.8L. if you don't have enough money to purchase this lens (it's ~$1880) rent it. And since you're gonna be 1st photographer u'd be following the couple around alot there'll be some instances (eg tea ceremony if it's a chinese wedding) you'd need a wide angle lens(EF-S 10-22 since you're not using FF) . again if you're unable to buy just rent it. Because of the setup u're likely to require a battery grip (BG-E5 for 450D or BG-E3 for 400D) to add stability to it

hi thanks for your advice. i think im set on buying the 450D. wheee..
its a malay wedding. theres no indoor ceremony, it should be under the void deck, i have an external flash now.

so if my budget is 1.3k is it enuff for a starter kit? i can accumulate more accessories by the next few months.

what should i get? planning to get it tomorrow ..whee! can't wait.

dont think your kit will suffice, try renting some lens and an external flash.

see my entry above basically that's the equipment u'll need. most of the time i use shutter priority & set it to the slowest shutter speed that i can shoot steadily handheld (most of the time it's abit faster than 1/focal length). if i'm using external fill flash while outdoors i'll use aperture priority. if u got any questions u can pm me =)
