Hello everybody, I have a problem with my viewfinder eye piece. When I remove my lens and look through the eye piece I can see some dust particles. I tried using a blower and clean the area above the mirror but the dust particles stills remain there. Will the dust particles affect my picture after I taken them?

I think you got the same problem as me.

Not on the lens, not on the sensor. Pictures taken does not show.

It can only mean one thing. It's inside the viewfinder. Haha! I am waiting for it to get worse then I get it clean. Right now it's just a tiny little dust that doesn't bother me much as yet. In fact, had been shooting lately and I just can't see the dust when looking through my viewfinder. Haha! :bsmilie:

Me too, i've got this dust in the viewfinder since day one. I only used my camera about 2 days later, because i was working at the COMEX Show, and i bought my camera there. On the 2nd day, i played with my camera, and when i engaged liveview and the viewfinder closed and i later went back to viewfinder mode, i can see a small black piece of dust in the viewfinder. It's stuck on the glass after the eyepiece glass. Doesn't bother much. Can't see it at times. Makes your camera unique. Haha.

Can I check with you guys what format do you usually shoot in? I am still quite new to DSLR so I am shooting in RAW format. And also what software do you guys use to edit your photos? I seen some CSers posting picture with white border and also the subject in focus while the background in B&W.

There's no standard rules as to shoot in what format. Shooting in RAW if you post-process your photos a lot as all details are added by you after the photos are taken.

Having said that, you can also shoot in JPEG and still do the post-processing but do switch your Picture Style to Neutral or Faithful as most details are still captured correctly.

Software varies from users to users. Some use the utilities provided by Canon but I believe that there's a substantial amount of shooters here use Photoshop.

Yeap, RAW is the true output from the camera. And its not easily read by computers without the correct software. So if you want to carry pictures that are easily read on the go by any computers, shoot JPEG. If you want the real power of the sensor, use RAW.

I'm planning to get Lightroom2 soon.

Went round shooting..using the free canon bag provided..

wondering what kind of bag u all using...

the way the bag is designed, it does not seem frenly to put the camera with the kit lens attached (unless i reattached the velcro inside)...

Just reattach the velcro lor.

Im using Crumpler 4 Million, seems a little small for my setup(450D + Tamrom 17-35 and Canon 55-250) already, so trying to get 5/6 Million.

Currently has the free canon bag and I think its crappy.

Will be getting lowepro stealth reporter D200 or D300 soon.

hmm i'm also using canon bag. and i don't have problems fitting all my gear in (450D with kit lens attached, 50mm+55-250mm @ the side) i place my camera with lens facing up & that takes around half the space in the bag

ahh not a bad choice but it may get a little small if you're hit by the BBB virus haha

Well, the free bag is alright, but i have to say, it likes to attract fungus/spores. After my first shoot, i didn't use the bag for sometime, and i can see little bits of spores appearing on the back. Had to dust and let the bag air out.

I currently bought a lowepro Flipside 300. Nice bag. Haven't used it yet. Still in it's packaging. Haha.

i think the bag is just nice if you have a basic setup. i usually put the camera with my 50mm attached to it inside the biggest slot, then the kit lens by itself in the slot at the side. the smallest slot i put filter(s) and lens caps.

or you can do what my friend does - he removes the foam partitions and dumps his stuff into the bag. just be careful not to be too rough or lun3 zhun3 when you carry the bag. ;)

hmm i used to use this bag until i got my flash unit.. then cannot fit so many things inside already.

currently using the lowepro fastpack 250.. I think it's a little bulky if u're on a crowded bus or train.. but it handles well.. managed to fit a 430EX II, 450D with 17-55mm attached, 75-300mm, 18-55mm kits lens and 50mm prime once.. with all the random accessories la like spare batt and extra memory card and stuff.. was moving the gear to my gf's house to dump in the dry cabinet haha.. makes u look school-boy/girl though..

I think its ok if I hit the BBB virus. I wouldn't want to bring my whole cabinet out thou. Haha! Probably gripped camera, 1 std lens, 1 tele, 1 flash and other accessories.

I saw my fren with a D200 with his gripped 400D + 70-300, 17-85, 430EX and many other stuff all inside his D200.. lol..

Hi guys, I am doing a favour for my friend. Any one has any idea where I could get the fisheye camera?
