Woah. Nice.

Sounds like me to all my friends who think that DSLR uses one lens that fits all.
Most think like that. I really wonder why? What's the difference between that and a Prosumer camera if 1 lense fits all?

My uni education locally is as gd as overseas uni education.

4 yrs = 77k  not including transportation, misc fees and daily expenses and needs but it has not stopped me from plunging into the DSLR world

Yup. 77K.

Well, I guess yours will be even more than mine.

ok time for sigma 70-300mm review.

i think its well worth the money if you're not really so particular on image quality. in fact, its actually good with sufficient light. set a high shutter speed and drop f size to 8.0 and the image turns out good even at 300mm.

that said, it's terrible during low light as ur shutter speed has to go low and aperture going wide. basically its impossible to take a clear shot using handheld.

its not too big or heavy. but fully extended with hood will be long. filters will rotate with the focusing. tuning the zoom was not really smooth but manageable. manual focus was much smoother.

tats abt all. with nothing similar to compare to. the comments are very subjective. but for the bucks wise, its good if u're not shooting in low light.

4 samples at my flickr under the lens name. no pp done. only resize at 80% jpg.

Hi Ninja23,

Think I get the picture. Thanz for the advice. Coz I just sold my Canon PoweshotS2.. the one with the 10x optical zoom. I think for a starter I will start with 18-55mm, the more affordable one. Then perhaps add on with a 55-200mm, that should complete my package. =). As for 1000D and 450D.. the pricing seemed not drastically a difference, that's why Im aiming the 450D.

theres no uni subsidy? :o

haha ^ welcome.

btw Tatiana Del Toro rocks just now on idol.

okay thats soooo offtopic. heheheh

Referring to my uni?

At the moment, it doesn't have any and why it is so expensive is because I'm pursuing a US degree. And US degrees are one of the most expensive.

private uni?

local unis are subsidized, undergrads pay like $6k per semester for general degrees. on top of this, the $6k can be paid using ur parents' CPF or a bank loan.
